I just saw on the news two 19 year olds were killed in a street racing accident, last night around midnight, the one was from irwin I believe. The news said they were traveling @ a high rate of speed, the one car hit several trees, just sucks to see..

Correct me if I'm wrong, but are you not the one always preaching how F'd up street racing is and that's what the track is for? They did something stupid and F'd up bad, now there's two less idiots on the road for the rest of us to have to worry about. You don't like my comment, I REALLY DON"T CARE!!!
Don't expect me to feel bad for someone like that. I had a VERY good friend get cut in half along with his 01 Cobra because he was driving too fast drunk and hit a tree, and you know what, I felt the same way about his stupidity! Boo F'ing Hoo!

Absolutely Ed, this is yet another example of why peeps need to take their cars to the track. So whats your point? Please tell me this isn't your explanation or justification for your comment??? Are you short a chromosome or do you have an extra??? Man are you a piece of work, do everyone a favor and shut your big ignorant mouth...

you pay to play. thats why there are laws against this type of activity, to prevent exactly what happened yesterday.
i tell the drug addicts i deal with that all the time. last thing i will feel sorry for is somone who OD's.
same goes with street racing and why its illegal.
not only can you kill yourself, but you risk the chance of hurting someone else totally unrelated to your race.
sad two see two people die, but if they were driving the speed limit not racing they would probably be here today.
i am just glad an innocent person in another car or on the road was not hit and killed by them. i have seen that first hand and saw a very promising college athlete go to state prison over it.

Exactly!!! I pity the fool that causes any harm to my family by doing something like this. Honestly, the coroner would be called weather it were from the accident or from me. Stupidity like that has no business on the streets.

Most everyone on here has broken the speed limit or run their car through the gears on the street at one time or another. Accidents happen even when you "Know" what your doing. BTW, these were someone elses kids / Family too and to say the things that have been said in this thread saddens me. Nobody was there to see what happened so whos to say what took place?
Wick, it wasn't too long ago I remember you telling a story about wrecking a civic at high speeds a few years ago, this could have easily been you.

And i doubt you guys would be saying this stuff if they were your kids or family members or maybe your best friend.
Exactly Lou, I was 21 when that happened. 12 years ago. I think of all the stupid stuff I did when I was young and realize, what an asshole I was. You think of stuff all the time and just cringe when you see it going on. I know I do. I know the consequences of doing this. As many, I was fortunate to only hurt myself. Those days were over 12 years ago.
My sig, well that was a very short burst on a completely empty road and a one time thing. Once again. Stupidity that will never take place again in any of my cars.
I really didnt say anything bad except I would feel sorry if somebody ever hit me doing something like this.

This is exactly why I think the Road Kill section is stupid. A place where people go to brag about doing something that they will/may regret some day.

i totally agree with you. it seems to be the same people bragging how they raced such and such a car here and there.
i don't think they would be posting a thread to brag about getting caught for it and losing thier license or where someone hits an innocent bystander, pedestrian, other car while street racing acting like a fool.....

whether its street racing...driving drunk or hanging out the window of a moving car to snap a video, or a pic..we've all done that at sum point along the way. its not the smartest thing to do...but at that moment its what WE decided to do. I know i did my share of dumb and retarded things that involved a car or truck or a 4-wheeler but as ive grown older i look back on that situation and think...wow....im glad nothing bad happened to me or my friends or ne one else that was an innocent bystander. its easy to sit back and criticize what we did and others are doing now but thats because we know better or think we know better. Look at it this way"everyone of us had to learn from mistakes." we just happened to live through ours but those young boys werent so lucky. No one could tell us to not do sumthing. that just made it even more rewarding or fuel on the fire to try it....im not downing those two ppl....or ED...my thoughts and prayers are with their families and friends. For all you who think they got what they deserve:flipoff:. I'll bet my life that most everyone on this board has street raced before, it's not legal and not always the right thing to do, but it happens and all you can hope for is that nothing happens. Sounds to me there are a bunch of hipocrits who have nothing better to do. As Lou said they are someone's kids and they paid the ultimate price, prayers go out to the victoms and their familys, RIP.

also wick, i didnt mean as a personal attack on you, if you took it that way..
I was just saying that everyone has done it before and some have learned from it and some still do it and should be bale to take the consequence if something would happen, and i admit that i have done it, but i have also learned from it. I have not done any street racing since the cops were called on me and a mustang while racing.. I have learned from it and figured its not worth it and its not fair to my friends or family..
Thats why i think the falshlight drags are the best thing to come around this area

just as many on here, i have did a little street racing, but honestly probably no more than 5 times. im only 23 and have never lost a friend to this type of accident, but i gave up on this shortly after i got my stang. when im on an open road with no one around ill still tromp on it to get that thrill from the car but no racing and nothing excessive. i mean this site wouldnt exist if everyone had a low power car and didnt want to go fast. theres no point to have a high powered car or truck and got fast and most people dont go to the track. its tough to see something like this happen cause everyone knows this started as something fun and to have a thrill, and it ended terrible. its hard to say, but i do feel better that no one innocent was injured. street racing will never end and everyone knows nothing is illegal until you get caught. it sucks to hear this and everyone has gone over the speed limit, like was said before, some are just luckier than others.
RIP and godbless to everyone.
edit: i also think the road kill section should be change to track kills or done with

I totally agree. For anyone to make such rediculous comments about two people they don't even know ought to be ashamed of themself. Nobody makes good decisions all the time. It doesn't matter if you street race, drag race, or if your just speeding on your way to work. Sometimes bad things just happen and we all should use this as a reality check to step back and look at the careless things we do and try to be a little more safe.

Street racing is bad I AGREE. I however have and will continue to street race every now and again. You just need to be ready to pay the consequences when and if something goes wrong. And it may. I feel terrible for the families of the deceased. I hope time will heal there pain and loss. Unfortunatly we have know control over when our time is up on this earth. The Lord new that this was gonna happen to them just like he knows when my time will be up also.
Thoughts and prayers to the families.

I've seen the silver audi A4 at school a few times. Oddly enough, my buddy lives on the road where they wrecked (route 130). I picked him up and we went down to a bar for a while. Came back and the road was closed off. I did see the accident site in person the next day. Kid damn well had to be going atleast 90mph. Trees were completely bare to about 6 feet up. Def gives you chills seeing it. And yellowstang, I'm sorry to hear about Rick's daughter. My prayers are def with them. He is an outstanding guy, and does great work (obviously). first off, RIP to the two young kids who lost their lives.
I agree the kill section should go. Its stupid that everyday there is threads about kills and then threads about those who got killed. We bitch all the time to take it to the track but people don't seem to think that pertains to them. Whether you think no one is on the road or not its not safe. What does it take? Does one of our members have to die before it hits home? cause I've seen it on other forums.
of course I also believe there is a way to say it...

Sorry to hear of the two dieing.
It takes a death or two to want to get rid of this section. Yet when no deaths occur we rave about the kill's we get raceing on the streets. It is part of car building history. Sure it would be great to take all races to the track. We all know the chances we take raceing on the street. I prefer to go to certain places.(Has lots of history) I say let the section alone. If you don't like it don't read it but, you know you will read it.
