NateSVT new motor!!!

Parts have been rolling in so I started putting everything together. New block and crank, oliver rods, diamond notched pistons, melling pump, comp stage 3 cams, springs retainers etc...should sound pretty sweet when it is all said and done! Mac ceramic coated 1 5/8". I didn't have the extra money when I bought those to go with the American Racing or Kooks. But I did read some good things about the Mac and they were about 3 times cheaper.:thumbsup:

i think the PA racing one is less than 400 bones. it would be the time to install it now that the motor is out. that would def be something that id buy before i set that motor back in there. a lot of the other stuff you can do while its in there

I had a huge list of other stuff that I wanted to get (K-member, coil overs, 26 spline input shaft, new flywheel, Ram clutch, new fuel system) but I ended up spending a lot more than I expected on everything else. Enough to buy a brand new GSXR750 that I was going to get at the beginning of summer:bite:
But for now I'm using the stock clutch and stock K-member. I will probably be doing all of the other upgrades and a twin screw over winter.

Well i got back in town just before lunch yesterday. I put the motor in during the afternoon and buttoned most of it up today. Just waiting on a few misc things but I should be firing the car tomorrow. Engine bay looks good Nate, less junk and the valve covers really stand out! See you tomorrow:goodidea:

Don't get much easier than that!!! A sign would be nice but I am planning on building my own place so I would rather wait until then. The addressing on Campbells run is a little goofy but most people find it without issue. There is usually a wait to get in and all of my work is by appointment only so not having a sign on the road helps keep the tire kickers away:awsome:

Covers match up pretty good imo, he took his gas cover to the powder coater a while back to help them get the color close. The car isn't running too hot for obvious reasons...mail order tune & too much boost, stage 3 cams, bad gas, long tubes etc. Mechanically the car is sound, leak free and is healthy to say the least!!! As long as Nate does what he needs to do and what I told him to do, he will have a monster on his hands:goodidea:

so can he drive the car? does he just have to break in the new motor and get a custom tune done.he has the car and is putting miles on it, 1st gear sucks and it is mandatory to stay out of boost as it will detonate. i would have much rather he got a start up tune from my guy so i could have at least logged the car to get the short trims done etc. the car would have been much safer and friendlier to drive but that wasn't my decision. if he can suck it up for the 500 miles, stay disciplined and get to a good dyno tuner...he will be fine:goodidea:
