I wanted to install my FRPP valve covers today but found that the stock bolts are too long. They bottom out before tightening the covers down. Does anyone have a part number for valve cover studs?

The FRPP covers have some nipples?? inside that the stockers didn't. I'm wondering if they'll be a problem with hitting my rockers?

I would like to get the engine bay looking a bit more sanitary. Not blingy, but just a clean sanitary look. Any suggestions?
I want the TB and EGR spacer the same color. Should I paint it? What type of paint?

Here's the whole underhood. Open to suggestions.

Also, if anyone knows a part number for an upper intake stud kit it would sure help me out. I looked at Jegs and Summit with no luck.

How about I give you one of my blue plug wires so they all match. HAHAHAH Your rockers will probably hit the covers. No biggie as you can take off the baffle and probably bo allright. Also, just use some washers for the space that you need for the clamping on the gasket. If you dont wanna do that, call summit and get the ARP bolt kit. Its like $20.00.

As far as painting the intake and such, duplicoclr has a phenominal wheel paint that works real good. Its almost a dead match for the intake too. $9.00 per can at Pep boys.

Yeah, that wire got burned on the header and all I had was a red one. I found the part number and just ordered the VC studs from Jegs. Looks like the car will be down until Tuesday.

I'm gonna start removing parts, maybe one a week, and paint them. I don't want to do it all at once because then it turns into a must do project to get the car back on the road. I don't want to feel pressured, so one a week will work for me.
Guess I'll start with the EGR and TB.

Good idea. I hate when I start something small then wind up putting a blower on with a Tremec trans. HAHAHAH A simple $100 upgrade turns into a $5000+ upgrade with 4 weeks down at the best driving time of the year.

I decided to paint the stock covers and sell the FRPP ones. I also painted the EGR spacer and TB. Maybe do the power steering bracket and tensioner next week. I'm happy with the way it turned out.

Did you use the paint I told you to get?
