View Full Version : It's that time of year - Fantasy Football time
So who else is in a league? How your teams look? What league?
I tried that NFL league last year along with my cousins league on Yahoo. I can say I didn't like how the NFL sets theirs up. This is my 6th year in Yahoo and I think for once my team is stacked fairly well. My cousin who has run the league has won it 4 out of last 6 and had Peyton Manning every damn year. This year he is not winning.
My team - few minor tweaks needed but overall looks strong.
QB Peyton Manning (Ind - QB)
WR Randy Moss (NE - WR)
WR Anquan Boldin (Ari - WR)
WR Nate Burleson (Sea - WR)
RB Darren McFadden (Oak - RB)
RB Edgerrin James (Ari - RB)
TE Chris Cooley (Was - TE)
W/T Vincent Jackson (SD - WR)
W/R Devin Hester (Chi - WR)
BN Selvin Young (Den - RB)
BN Philip Rivers (SD - QB)
BN Jerious Norwood (Atl - RB)
BN Marcedes Lewis (Jac - TE)
K Stephen Gostkowski (NE - K)
BN Ryan Longwell (Min - K)

Your team looks good depending on how many teams is in your league.
You do know that Justin Fargas is the starter in Oakland though. Mcfadden will probably win the job by mid to late season but at best he will be splitting carries. Burlesson is kinda iffy to.... Good luck though buddy.:goodidea:

I don't play fantasy football, but i hear enough about it to be a friggin ESPN analyst... haha, it gets on my nerves so bad! My boss and co-workers are psychotic about it... my boss is in like 5 leagues, two of which are ones you have to fly to Las Vegas for the draft, and have buy-ins upwards of $1800.... on the flip side, he did end up winning somewhere around $10K last year...

I'm i a 10 team league, and I got to pick 4th. We use the S-style order, so I had the 4th and 17th picks, and so on... Any offensive TD is 6 points, subtract a point for an interception or fumble, point for each reception from #3 on, etc... We have to play a QB, 2 RB, 3 WR/TE, K & D. It's a head-to-head league. Last year I rode Romo & TO to the championship. It's a non-keeper league, so every year I have to start fresh.
I lost the order I picked the team - I know #1 thru 5 were...
Brian Westbrook
Frank Gore
TJ Hoozyamama
Derek Anderson
Anquan Boldin
and then the rest of my team is ( we go a whopping 19 rounds... ):
Deuce McCallister
Jonathan Stewart
Ronnie Brown
Matt Schaub
Brady Quinn ( to backup Anderson )
Mushin Muhammed
Kellen Winslow
Jeremy Shockey
Robert Meachem
Heath Miller
Jason Hansen
Phil Dawson
Vikings D
Ravens D
This is a pretty cheap league. $73 buy-in, $13 of which goes toward the CBS Sportsline website. I cleared a whopping $330 last year for my efforts. :)
