Ok, to persuade cluttering up other peoples threads, I feelthis is a good idea. Who cares what you talk about. Doesnt f ucking matter. The idea is to have somewhere we can bullshit without jamming somebody's thread. Topic? No!!!! There is none.

OHHH ok. i get it.

i worked till 2:10 today, went to class till 7:30, came home and ate some pizza and did nothing, and then for some reason my mom bought a 5 speed miata, so that was cool (i guess)...and then I taught her what drifting was, and she now will not let me drive it, and then Gina called me but i didnt have time for that so i hung up, then Mark (yellow03stang) prank called me pretending to be micheal jackson and then again as ms. cleo, and now im just haaaanngin out.

OOHhhh yea i did some home work too, after i hung up on my gf, but before ms. cleo called.

HAHAHHA Finally. We have something we can agree on!!!! I spent all weekend, this is still the weekend for me, working on the house. Stained our new sliding glass door, finished the kitchen that we decided to add/modify, and painted my front doors. After 4 days off, I need to go back to work. going crazy here. The door did turn our nice though.Lots of stain and lots of urethane. Got it all back together a little while ago.

Yeah, its a good laser type.I just got used to the pad on the laptop and started using that. When we did our flooring last October, I did not have a choice. We got allnew carpet and flooring throughout the house. Figured that was a good time to get Trevors room ready. Moved the other computer into the finished basement/gameroom. your friend is right. lol. Its an R1, 1000cc's. Not to mention the HUGE rear sprocket on this particular bike, brings the front end up like nothing.

i rode a cbr 1000 the other day in the parking lot and it literally made me not want a bike anymore....its ridiculous the power they have. To pull out i didnt even have to give it throttle, i let the clutch out and it was going 10 or 15 right off the bat.

My dirtbike doesnt have close to the power of a bike like that but buying and riding it have helped me learn a ton, thats the main reason i got it.

Edit; what book are you looking for?

your friend is right.
:iagree:

I had a lowly CBR900 (slow compared to today's literbikes) and it would scare the piss out of me when I rode it. I'm not claiming to be the world's #1 biker, but I rode many dirtbikes since I was 5 years old and had a VTR250 and CBR600F2 before the 900. If you get on the throttle too soon coming out of a corner, those literbikes will stand straight up (if you're lucky) or if your suspension ain't tuned just right, it'll headshake violently (if you don't know what this is, you shouldn't even think about a sportbike of any size) and almost put you on your ass fast. :goodidea:

They are really NO joke. If you must own a sportbike, find yourself a used 600cc to start out on. All the jap companies made a great 600 from about '99 on. Good Luck.

its not even really a book, its like a journal of these three guys lives that fled sudan so they wouldnt be killed, pretty good story, but at this point I'm just bs'ing my way through this paper.

as for the bike, I'm just interested in something that I can ride up and back to school, I'd like to throw a classic plate on my cobra to save on the insurance, so I'm just looking for sumthin good on gas, the other thing is that some people in the past had told me that i should look at a bigger bike because of my size (6'2/ 315), but obviously more cc's isnt necessarily the answer

I second Clarks' idea about getting or riding a dirtbike some before getting a sportbike... they feel 100% different, but its the fact that you can get familiar with the controls and the general feel of a motorcycle...

As far as a litrebike goes, go with your gut... If you're gut instinct tells you that its just going to be too much, then don't get it... Its no joke, they're mean bikes... my bike still has the stock gearing (not for long tho) and it goes 104mph in first gear... and gets there in a REAL HURRY... Coming down the parkway and wanna pass a car? any of the tall gears will accelerate harder than 95% of cars out there... if you go down 2 gears and hammer it, you'll be doing 130mph in an instant, with the bike still trying to rip your face off... I don't typically get out late at night when there's no traffic, but i've had the R1 upwards of 170mph once, and it was still pulling very hard!
However, whether you kill urself or not is all in how responsible you are with your right wrist. I started on my dad's Honda CB900 custom - read, NOT CBR! - it was a pitifully slow, probably 60hp bike... then jumped straight up to my TL1000R, and then now have the R1. It pretty much comes down to one thing - RESPECT! If you don't respect the bike and try to run it to its limits, YOU WILL LOOSE! These engines can easily handle more torture than you can put on it, and handle better than anyone can push them... I'm not saying have fear, because I don't have any fear of my bike whatsoever, but i respect what it can do, and I've always been able to stay in check - and I've run both litrebikes of mine very hard!

600's make great power nowadays, but you have to get them wound out pretty hard to do so... therefore, i think you'd be less likely to find yourself in trouble... Litrebikes makes insane torque down low, and then just never stop pulling... mine is extremely strong starting around 5K rpms, and then REALLY comes on around 7500 rpms and just pulls harder and harder and harder the whole way to the 14,500 rpm redline

this is funny. I have a buddy who is a PA state trooper. we were talking one time when I had my 900. I said, "You ain't got a chance in hell (of catching me) mutha f0cka!" He says, "Yeah, well whatever you ain't gonna outrun Motorola!" So, I pull the big guns out and say, "You ain't gonna take me alive, copper."

He responds with one of my favorite statements of all time..."Ok then, we'll do it your way!"

Friday, September 19th is doomsday for me. I actually took the day off work. We have tickets to see Gary Allan at the Wild Things Field (I don't know the name of it?) so we're going to waste the first part of the day at the casino and the outlets. Hopefully this means ME at the casino and HER at the outlets. But, that could get costly if she doesn't have any financial supervision.

good stories?
I went to Austin, TX for a concrete seminar a few years ago. They sent me with our production manager at the time. I was about 30 and he was about 45 years old. He was married with a few kids. He had an engineering degree. Very boring dude. When I was with him at breakfast one day, he had to call his wife and ask her which pants that she packed him matched which shirt??? real stick-in-the-mud boring kinda guy. So, I get him 1/2 liquored up one day after class and take him to a place called the "Yellow Rose" (of Texas??? hahahahha). They do things a little different down there. You just get a table and the girls come around to you. It's a little more expensive that way, but more personalized and pretty cool. Anyway, we're there for ten minutes and his eyes are as big as pie plates. I, honestly don't think he'd ever been to a strip club in his life. I paid the first girl 20 bucks to sit on his lap and he almost shit himself. It was freaking hilarious. We were with two other guys from Kentucky or something and they were laughing at him so bad... I ALMOST felt bad for him. I got him some more drinks and got him a taxi back to the hotel EARLY.

I have two right now.

1. I can't believe the French let them build that big, scary machine under their country. Just not like them.

2. Instead of flinging rays of protons and subatomic particles at each other, why don't they just start right off with cats or homeless people?

There is 50% chance we will learn some amazing things. Another 50% chance that it will open a black hole to swallow most of France. A 50% chance it just wont work, then a 50% chance we will get to see French scientist chicks with hairy pits.

yeah, they ran it it one direction, then I think today or tomorrow (they're 12 hours ahead of us?) they are going to check the other direction, then when they get the balls, they are going to run the rays of protons in opposite directions at the speed of light and see WTF happens. Trying to recreate Einstein's theory of E=MC^2. E is energy. M is Mass and C is the speed of light. I guess if you run head on into each other at the speed of light, that would be the speed of light squared.

It's actually 17 miles around. The speed of light is 186,000 miles per second. If you do the math, that's about 11,000 times (around a 17-mile loop) per second.

We were bored at work today, so we did some studying on the subject. :innocent:
