Im so ****ing tired of all the bitching and moaning about shit posted in the classified section and having to delete all the shit that doesn't belong in there. I make a few hunderd dollars off this board per year and in exchange I get to be a full time adult baby sitter. If you post something there or anywhere else on this board, consider it public. Don't post pictures or info here if you don't want people to see it!!!!!!!! If your not absolutely buying something, keep the **** out of the thread. Do not bump the thread, compliment the item, etc. Just stay out if your not buying. We have a whole entire forum to interact within and all I have asked from everyone is to keep the classifieds clean. Its just complete bullshit and if it keeps up im tossing the classifieds all together!!! I started this board to help bring all the local people together to for meets, a local outlet to trade and sell your parts, and most of all, talk cars but all I get for it is a bunch of shit.

Agreed 100%
but just a bit of clarification
Do not bump the thread,
does this mean you'd rather us not bump our own thread? or just others?

1. Classified adds are for individuals only, not for business adds.
2. Please do not post in a members ad unless you are truly interested in the item for sale.
3. Make all offers VIA PM or email.
4. Do not comment on an item being priced too high or where to find a better deal. If you feel the need to mention it, send them a PM or email.
5. YOU MUST POST AN ASKING PRICE FOR EACH ITEM YOU ARE SELLING!
You may also add OBO (Or Best Offer) to your price.
6. Do not intentionally "bump up" your own topic more than once a day. You may of course respond to questions, but excessive "bumping" will result in the termination of your sale.
A “bump†is a post to get your thread back to the top of the page. If there has been any post made by anyone during a particular day, meaning the time stamp in the upper left hand corner reads "Today", a bump is not necessary and should not be posted.
7. Members may post links to Classifieds threads, or mention items posted in the Classifieds, in their Signature or User Title. Please keep it short and to the point.
8. Do NOT create a new thread for items that you have already posted for sale, just bump your old thread.
If you are in violation of ANY of these rules you will receive only 1 warning (PM or within the thread). A second violation will result in your right to post in the Classifieds Forum being removed, or, depending on the severity of the infraction, could result in your being banned from the Steel City Stangs Forums.

:goodidea: Best idea on here in a long time, Rob!!!! I really don't think im asking too much from everyone. There are days I come home from work and have 3 or 4 PM's from people complaining about someones post in their thread. I work 48 hours a week and then can be found in the garage or driveway for 10-15 hours a week peddling parts to make some extra cash so I can afford to play with my toys. Its just not fair for me to have to spend my spare moments solving all these petty problems all the time, were all supposed to be adults here. I seriously think I could have a knitting and quilt forum and have less bitching and moaning.:dunno:

Yeah. And unlike the other assholes, I learned my lesson. Notice, rather than thinking of the past, look at the present. I dont post in the classifieds. Whats the irony in that? You say irony, I say lesson learned. Same meaning. NO.

so my question is, what if a member posts in a for sale thread who is interested in buying something, and I am not...but they ask a question about the application of the item or whatnot, can I answer this question? I don't see a problem with this type of posting in a for sale ad.
I haven't noticed a problem with the classifieds really, but maybe the reason I haven't is because you've already deleted the b.s. before I saw it.

I have no problem with someone helping out with a question but sometimes the seller does. Thats kinda what im getting at, some people get offended when other people post in their ad and I receive the PMs regarding this. :goodidea:

I think bumping and ttt your post in classifieds is getting out of hand, Yes I have done it before but most of us are on here alot and we see whats listed the first time, if someone is looking for something they will search for it. Just my 2cents

Yes, once a day is plenty but probably overkill for a small forum like ours.

IMO the only people that should be communicating in a classified thread are the seller and potential buyer. If there is a specific question that nobody can answer then a new thread should be started in the appropriate forum section to help find that answer. This will promote consistency and is fair for everyone.
This is exactly why I don't care for this section...http://www.steelcitystangs.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=42

Just curious, is there any way to make someone the moderator of their own thread in just the classified section? That would eliminate a lot of messages to the moderators complaining about posts they don't like. They could just delete it themselves. Personally I wouldn't mind someone posting in my for sale thread providing they're not complaining about the price or something rude like that. Either way, the rules are the rules. There have been many times where I felt like posting something in a for sale thread, but I didn't because I respect the rules of the forum.

I think RIO was referring to me on this. I answered for Coralcoupe-Colin which is a pretty good friend of mine and he was not on here yesterday. Frankstangs asked about his prochamber. I answered knowing Frankstangs is not really on here during the week.

To my knowledge there is no way to make the seller a mod of his own posts and even if there was I bet that would cause even more friction. Please explain further what keeps you from using the classifieds, if you don't mind. I myself sell a ton of stuff and rarely post anything on this board due to a high rate of tire kicking and lack of response. :beerchug::beerchug:

I was just saying that I don't post in other people's threads, not that I don't use the classifieds in general. I think this site is a great place to find local parts. I really wish it was around like 10 years ago when I was buying parts for my fox and had very limited funds. I meant that sometimes I feel like saying "that price seems a little high" or "nice car good luck with the sale" etc. but I don't because it's not necessary and there are rules against it.
