Odd Vibration.

Dont really know what this could be, maybe some of you guys could help me.

When i free rev the car, i can rev it to whatever i want 5500+

but if im in gear driving and i get on it (under load) if i get the rpms up past 3300+ i can hear it vibrate somewhere.. not sure where though..(kinda vibrates the steering wheel)

i was thinking harmonic balancer, but then it would also vibrate during free rev right?

Anybody have an idea at what this is? just curious.

driveshaft? is it when your driving or sitting still?

most car vibrate after 60 mph becuase of wheel balance. balacnce machines are only good till 60

i hope its the driveshaft, because im in the process of buying 1 now anyways, because of my car vibrating at 75mph+, so the vibrations are most likely related??

If the steering wheel shakes, look for it to be the front wheels out of balance. If it seems like its more than that it may be out of alignment or the driveshaft like you said.

FWIW one of my college roommates drove a Pontiac Vibe... he always called it the vibrator :rotflol:

It is probably the driveshaft but it could also be a pinion bearing in the rear starting to go bad or a bad universal joint. Before removing the driveshaft wiggle it around and check the u-joints. Wiggle the rear of the driveshaft and if the pinion flange in the rear moves up or down then the pinion bearing is going bad.
