Well,I just tore the head off of the 2.3t that I bought a while back. I got burned on that deal. It must have been run really hard! It burned some metal from between cyls 3 and 4 on the head and block! I was pretty bummed. I still have to tear the bottom end down to see if there's anything else bad(hopefully not).I was wondering if anyone has a 2.3t longblock for sale? If I can't find one I might buy a N/A 2.3 and swap over the internals. I'll try to get up some pics

I believe the 2.3t rods are beefier as well as having forged pistons. They also have stainless steel valves. Other than that I believe they are pretty much the same. I could be wrong though,as I'm new to these motors.

The valves in the turbo head are not stainless, but the exhaust valves are made of a better alloy to help deal with the heat. The chambers between an N/A and turbo head are also different. The turbo head has a d-shaped chamber which allows you to run a little more boost. I'm not sure on the connecting rods but supposedly they become a weak link only if you start making ridiculous power.
PM Onenastytbird, I believe he had a shortblock available a while back. Also check out the for sale section at www.natomessageboard.com (http://www.natomessageboard.com)

I'll keep that in mind if I find a bare block. Are the pistons for standard bore? Thanks.
