anyone ever have an 5.0 efi fuel pump go bad?

think mine is taking a crap. 93 5.0

i drove the car for close to 100 miles and got about 20 miles from home when the car quit and i had to be towed....thanks mr JJ's

car ran fine all day, began to sputter and quit running. upon trying to restart it would sputter-idle rough then die.

I let the car sit for about 10 minutes, it fired up ran fine for about 4 miles then started to sputter out-died and i had to pull over.

fuel pump was making a funny noise when car was sputtering and trying to idle upon restarting.

i have done fuel pumps on two of my old fox bodies over the years.

any opinions?

Sounds like a pump prob to me! They Will make crazy sounds and shit themselves, had to change one in my white car in wash parking lot

yep my fathers 90 mustang had a fuel pump go bad...the car started feeling like it was misfiring as if the plugs were going bad and it just got worse and worse...changed the fuel pump and it was fine.

I had a pump do that. Also, I had a bad wire on the pump in the tank. It would run for a bit then shut down. It did that a few times.

This was all in an 88 GT vert with about 40k on it.
