New BEST, My 11 Second car!!

well guys, i took my car to the track for CJ Pony night at Beaver Springs Dragway... I didn't have a real good night :( I did however get a new best off of the one pass i did get to complete. I'm kind of bumed out that i didn't get a 10 second pass out of the car yet, but what can ya do.. It seems like i can beat the guts out of my car on the street for hours and hours and it takes it, but once i get to the track the darn thing just refuses to cooperate. I had 2 runs, on the second run i bogged again and my lower radiator hose layed on my crossover pipe and melted through and sprung a leak.. well i fixed that with another hose, and when i started it up the car was huffing a little coolant, so i can only assume i must have popped a headgasket also. I'll have to tear it down and find out.. here's the video of my first pass, and the time slip. The best part of the whole night was that me and my friends were the 3 fastest cars at the event unless someone beat us in the last 20 minutes. it was pretty neat hearing our names over the loud speaker. Not bad for 3 street cars that drove over 70 miles to get there.

The car is making the power. Invest a little into the driver mod and you will be low 10's all day!

yeah definately... i've just started running on slicks so that's a whole new ballgame for me trying to launch.. just need some more time, and i want to hook up a 2step to come off the line so that should make it a little more precise rather than just reving it up and letting it fly lol...

Very nice, you'll definitely get a 10 with more track time time!
BTW, I made 598/580 at the tires and ran 132.5mph at 3150#, just for a comparison if you've not had it on a dyno.

Finally got the vid to load and it definitely spun the slicks on launch, you can pic up a lot of ET in the 60' for sure.

Thanks for the comments guys... yeah normally i don't bog so bad on the launch, but that track was sticky, and i was actually nervous yesterday for some reason.... Probably because i did the same dang thing last year at CJ pony night lol. I haven't made it through a CJ night yet and drove home in one piece.

yeah i forgot to mention the F-cam, and 3.55 gears. as far as the meth kit goes. that was the first time i got to use it and honestly i can't say that i did even use it. My timing was supposedly at 15* total that day according to my pms, but the air temps were so cold that even without the meth spraying the intercooler was keeping me in the low 110's. I never got a chance to crank the timing up to where i wanted it, but i will let you know. my buddy runs 22 or 23* with his on a very similiar setup.

Thanks... well i tore it down. Seems somehow i manage to bloew #2, and #3 cylinder head gaskets.. i'm gonna get my heads checked before i slap them back on to make sure they are true and ready to rip again. Heck maybe i'll hit the track one more time before winter if i'm crazy.

yeah your right... lol i tore em all off and just let them sit. I didn't even take them to get checked yet and the track closes next weekend... which i work. Oh well.. i'm gonna worry about my 57 and getting it a new set of shoese and a better carb.
