I just added a Saleen whale tail to my 91 LX notch. The spoiler is growing on me, but what really annoys me is the trunk will not stay open since the spoiler is so heavy. How did Saleen deal with this problem? I thinking about adding gas struts like on 00GT trunk to keep it open and then remove the torsen bars that are under the decklid. Any thoughts or idea's??

Thats the cars way of saying it don't like the wing on it:rotflol: j/k

You'll prob. have to put gas struts on it.

What kind of saleen spoiler did you get? Mine barely weighs anything. Its like a feather.

the springs are adjustable you can put them on a stiffer setting:awsome: or they just came out with a kit that puts struts on them i saw them in the newer 5.0 mag

I got lucky and on the tightest setting, the bars were able to hold the lid open. Just had to hope for no wind or it would close itself! :jump:

It's a real saleen fiberglass whale tail. It has Saleen and a saleen part# on the one post. I shouldn't say it's real heavy, but compaired to the stock 96GT spoiler I had on it is heavier and bigger.

I'll have to rip my trunk apart and look into adjusting the bars and see what that gets me...Thanks!

The kid that bought it lives somewhere in Butler Co.

Coupe+spoiler=:nono:, just my opinion, the kit Troy was talking about makes the trunk area look cleaner.
