View Full Version : 85 T-5 Clutch Question

hey everyone. im swapping in a new motor into my 85 mustang equipped w/ a stock t-5 transmission. im going with the SPEC Stage 2 Clutch(not sure where im odering it from yet).http://www.americanmuscle.com/spec-stage2-t45-clutch.html so here is my question. everywhere i look it is stated to fit 86-mid01's. is there any changes in the transmission from '85 to '86? and is there any reason why this clutch would not work in my '85? oh and another thing the engine im putting in it came out of an '89 so i will be using the flywheel that came with that. Thanks in advance.

its all good. the early 5sp were 10" and the one your looking at (86 up) are 10.5 but it should work fine with an 89 engine so long as you have the flywheel to match :thumbsup: should probably change the pilot and rear main while you're there...

Just make sure everything 10.5 inch and 10 spline and u should be fine.
