Finally got fed up with the shitty Shaker 500 stereo in my 06 about a month ago and decided to replace everything with stuff I had laying around. I almost forgot how much fun it was to install this stuff for a living when I was in High School.
Car is now sporting a new Pioneer DVD / Navigation head unit with built in Bluetooth and Sirius Sattelite Radio.
All door speakers were replaced with MB Quart 8" Mid-bass, 4" Mid-range and 1" Tweeters. The factory rear deck speakers were retained to provide just a hint of rear fill and one 12" MB Quart Subwoofer was added for some extra bass.
Each speaker is powered by its own Kicker 40ss amplifier running in bridged mode to provede 110w to each speaker. The factory rear deck speakers get their power from the high level outputs of the head unit. The system has a very clean and powerful sound. It's not something like you hear Junior in his Honda driving down the road at 2 a.m.
Last picture is a shot of a little entra power the GT was packin in the hood department! I like my new toy! :D
