Anybody here have it done?
What is your personal opinion of the outcome?
How long ago?
Have you had to get either eye "refreshed" ?
Would you do it again?
My wife had it done about four years ago. She is not too happy with it. If she would have been, I would already have got it done myself. Her eyes were really bad (like -6.5 power). She has been tested a few times (and had one refreshed to no avail) and she's 20/20. BUT, she has lots of glare and halos especially at night. HOWEVER, she says she would do it again.
She is not a particular person (even though she is female). I am the Obsessive Compulsive in the family. My eyes are not too bad (-1.00 power), but I do have an astigmatism in each eye. When she had hers done, they tested me and said that I am a "good" candidate.
I usually wear my glasses just to drive during the week. I don't wear them in my office. On the weekends, I usually wear contacts.
Since I bought the Harley, these contacts are really jacking me off. If I want to run out and take a quick spin in the evening or something, I really don't want to throw them in and take them out 2 hours later.
CLIFF NOTES: I've been thinking about lasik some more and just wanted to get some other opinions... other than Wifey's pissed off one.
Thanks guys/gals. :goodidea:

Dutt Vision & Laser in Greensburg. I think she is under a different name now. Office is located right next to Dick's and Home Depot in Greensburg right off of Rt. 66.

have heard several people get this done and have been very happy with results. i have thought about it but in my situation i like wearing glasses for working in the shop all the time
but my advice is go to a reputable doctor. there is a place in wexford that i know several people have gone to with fantastic results. i cannot think of the name off hand.

Wifey went to Dr. Daniel Zimmer (Associates in Opthalmology). Supposedly, he did Jerome Bettis' eyes and a few other important peeps in the area. Wifey not so happy. Maybe it's just her or maybe she's special enough to be in the 1% bracket of peeps who don't get good results. :dunno:

My sister had hers done about two years ago and hasn't had an ounce of trouble. She said it was the best money she ever spent. She had it done at the eye center on mcknight road across from red lobster.

Yep that's it! I remembered the name change, but couldn't remember the name.
It was strange being able to see 30 seconds after the procedure considering I couldn't even make out the big "E" at the top of the chart before hand.

I had RK 15 years ago when lasers were still experimental. The best money I ever spent also. I had halo and starbursting issues at night also, but they went away in a few months.

I had PRK done alost a year and a half ago through the military. I couldn't see crap without my glasses before. I am now 20/20 in both eyes and don't have any complaints. I did have to use the refresh drops for like 6 months after wards due to my eyes being dry. I had next to no pain after the first day.
I would recommend it to anyone, but as was said before make sure you go to a respectable place to get it done.

I'd go with INTACS before LASIK. Google it. :)

Wow, ive never even heard of it before. So its basically an implant in your cornea to reshape it to correct your vision?

I went to those guys for the evaluation. The only thing I didnt like is the "used car" pressure to get it done. I havent gone back yet...
For me it was $4000 for both eyes. $3000 if I brought someone else to get it done also.
Group SCS lasik!!!!
