I am looking for a Remington 870 tactical shotgun, part number 81190. I want this exact model:

http://www.remington.com/products/firearms/premier_dealer_exclusives/model_870_folding_stock_7-shot_Extension.asp

I've been quoted prices all over the place with the best being $389, the only problem is they can't get it. I REALLY want this gun now and if anyone knows where I can find one let me know. I've already been to Grice's Guns shop in Clearfield and East Coast Gun Sales in Duncansville.

Good luck, gun sales are through the roof now, expect it to get even worse in the next 2 months, it will be very hard to find any type of gun other than maybe a fudd rifle.

I know Grice and East Coast can get them, but there are only a few out there.

I've held the mossberg with the collapsable stock and it just didn't "feel" right. If I can't find the Remington, I'll get the Mossberg.

If you don't own an "assault rifle" or other semi-automatic, miliary issue rifle, now is the time to buy one.

Dunham's has AK-47 pattern rifles for $350, FYI. They also have military issue M59/66 SKS' for $200 (on sale).

Anyone into the Second Amendment should buy one soon.

Forgive my ignorance, but do these guns fire the 223 round?

Nope, they're both 7.62x39mm (the original Russian AK-47 round). 7.62x39 is ballistically similar to .30-30 Winchester. It's also the cheapest centerfire rifle ammo around- much cheaper to shoot then .223 or .308. You can buy it at Dunham's for like $5/per box of 20 (in comparison, a 20 round box of .30-06 is going to run $15).

Thanks!

I went to the Dunham's here in Altoona and it was a joke. The guy had no idea what they had, what they could get, etc and to buy one here it can take up to two weeks because all license/permits/etc have to go through their cooperate Pittsburgh store. I will definitely check there today though!:goodidea:

On a side note, I found a Remington 870 express tactical model 5059 which appears to be the same gun as the one I want, only without the lock crusher choke for $380, so I think I'm going to pick it up.

PS- SAC81 there is a guy on the 94-95 talk section of stangnet saying that Obama is not against the 2nd amendment... LOL!

LOL... I have no problem with someone supporting a candidate they agree with. I do have problems with people denying reality. So far, Obama has been the most anti-gun candidate to EVER run for President. I really hope his position softens once he's in office, but up to this point is record on the Second Amendment has been abysmal.

If you have any questions about AK-pattern or other military rifles don't hesitate to post them up, we'll help you out here!

Very good advice, I myself picked up another AR15 yesterday and a bunch more mags and ammo. Got a funny feeling they are going to come in handy:goodidea:

I just back from Dunham's. I looked at and held the AR that is on special for $350. It felt really cheap and junky. I'd be afraid that the clip would fall out or it wouldn't fire... am I worried about nothing? Is that the norm for these things?

You may be worrying but...mine feels very solid and the clip clicks nicely into place on it. IMO if your gonna buy a gun thats potentially gonna keep you safe you should buy one that you feel comfortable with, and that feels right to you.

That's the way all AK's feel to me also, but they are performers and will go bang when you need them to. I myself prefer the AR15 platform, many more accessories and they are a very nice feeling gun in hand. You can easily customize it to fit your needs. :goodidea:

AR or AK? If it was seriously an AR-15 style rifle for $350 I'd put it down and walk away slowly.

An AK on the other hand...yeah, they do feel cheap and junky. That's just the nature of AK's. They're machined to looser tolerances that we're used to with American guns. This does not in any way impact they're safety or effectiveness. I guarantee that it will fire everytime (even if you choose never to clean it), won't jam, and the magazine won't fall out. :D
