Hey guys, I just bought my supercharger(vortec T-trim with race gearing)for my 94 gt. I'm starting a parts list for the rest of the motor which will be a 408 forged stroker, but I'm not sure about a cam to use. B&R told me to go with a hydralic cam but I have no idea what to get. What cam works good with boost? I looking for 550-600hp, so I can run with the GT500's:rolleyes:
Thanks
Stan

Be sure to tell him it went 10.60's too.
You have nothing to fear with Billy, he is a good guy to deal with.

And indeed the car did go 10.60 with that cam and GT-40 Iron heads on a 302.

Thanks everyone. But is this a solid or hydralic cam? what else will I need with this cam? How about push rods lifters, and roller rockers? I currently have solid lifters and 1.6 roller rockers.

plan on a tune once you switch cams unless that cam has a 114 centerline?

You are talking about 408 cubes here and not some stock 302 which this cam is basically made for especially for all the bigger it is and a 6200 rpm range on a non stroker motor
The B21 is a hydraulic roller cam
Get a nice solid roller cam made custom for your setup and you will be so much happier. They're aren't a whole lot of cams on the shelf for what you are trying to do
BTW, 550-600 hp can be achieved without a blower on a 408
You have the potential to go 9's without a whole lot of effort with a 408 and blower so spend the few extra bucks and do it the right way and 302 parts in a 408 ain't gonna cut it
Also as Paul already said you will want a tuner or have someone tune it for you because 94-95 car's computers are not a mod friendly as the fox computers and it will run far better with a tune

My car has a tweecer computer and a custom ground cam in it. This was there when I bought the car and have no idea about the specs of the cam. Where could I get a special ground cam at?
