Veteran's Day

Thank you to every veteran has served, be it during war or peace. Most especially to my uncle, still working thrugh the effects of PTSD 40 years after his service in Vietnam, and my cousin's husband, readying for his second deployment to Iraq.
Caught in the action of kill or be killed, greater love hath no man than to lay down his life for a friend.

For the past 2year, PRP has had the honor of having the local Army class take their swearing in oath on the starting line. I think of them every time I stage.

A great friend of mine died in Afganistan August 1, 2008 - only 3 months after graduating from West Point....

He is dearly missed! :(

A Huge Thank You to All our Warriors!

My Dad (84 years old and well) is second from the right, He landed on D Day in Normand (110th Infantry Regiment of the 28th Infantry Division ), fought to St. Vith, Bastogne Belgium and on the Ardennes Forest and the battle of the Bulge where he was wounded in action.

My uncle Vic third from the right was Herman Goring guard at the Nuremburg trials.
And far right is uncle Dom, he was a Tanker commander WWII..
Uncle Jim was in Germany for the occupation.
Joe & John were in Korea...

thank you to all the vets....Ive had the honor of witnessing the changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier in D.C....its a totally amazing experience.

My pap was in the korean war and the other pap was in WWII against the japanese....one of my close friends left this summer for the marines, I have the highest respect for all those who serve.

My old man served on the USS Oriskany from '64-'68. Supposedly, an aircraft carrier was one of the safest places to be during Viet Nam, but his ship had a fire in '66. He was in Damage Control. His job was to fight the fire. He got burnt up pretty bad, but 44 other men died.

McCain actually flew off the Oriskany the day he was shot down and captured.
