I have a trade offer from a gentleman for my car, that includes a '00 Lighting plus cash... the following is his list of mods

MMR 900 Shortblock (Manley H-Beam Rods\Pistons, Forged Crank, ARP acc.)\ KB 2.3 @ 15 psi\ JLP Sheetmetal Plenum\ Catless Midpipes\ Dynatech Headers\ Magnaflow\ SCT Xcal2\ SCT 2400 Mass Air\ 60lbs. Injectors\ twin 255 fuel pumps\ Jlp Intercooler reservoir\ Accufab TB\ Ace Built Tranny and VB\ 2600 Stall\ JLP Long Bars\ Afco Heat Exchanger

It's a 2000 with 6,000 miles on motor\trans and 105k on body.

Since i don't follow these, i would like to get an idea of what you guys think i could sell this truck for, if i took it on trade?

From pics on the internet, its a damn good looking truck - but i'm sure with 105K on the body, its got the normal chips, etc. Its a Texas truck, so rust should not be an issue!

Thanks alot!

Cam99 has an '04 for sale right now for $19,500. 17K? miles and minimal mods. I would assume with that built engine and supporting mods, you'd be in the same ball park. What color?

sounds like a 15k dollar truck at best they really don't hold value all that well I have had 2 of them when I was into fords. great truck to beat on but I would not trade that ta on a lightning.

I use to follow lightnings and what they were going for about a year ago but the market has changed so much...a truck built to that extent and with 105k on the body if you could verify thats what it has on it and a clear title id say 16k max but with gas prices and the economy...id say 2-3k less now. They are great trucks but like i said...the market is tougher now.

If it weren't for the fact that I have to sell the car to fund a new house, i'd never trade my car for anything... I absolutely LOVE it!

But, being that I'm having trouble finding someone that can come up with the cash, then i'm trying to entertain other offers.... nothing is definite, but i'm trying to look into any possibilities

I highly doubt anything would come thru with it... He's half way across the country and all... but i'd still like to entertain the idea, while i'm waiting for some other folks to come up with the money...

Thanks for the helps guys!

If its been this difficult to sell your car, what makes you think it'll be easier to sell this truck right now?

Well, the economy is definitely not doing me any favors, but i believe one of the hardest parts of selling my car is the fact that, to the bank, its not worth anywhere near what i'm asking for it. To them, its a 2001 trans am, and they don't give a rat's ass if it has $1 in mods, or $4 million in mods, its still only worth $15K. Therefore, i'm in the situation where i need to find someone that has cash, and doesn't need to finance the whole thing - which is hard...

Selling a vehicle in the general area of its KBB value is much easier and opens up a lot more potential buyers.

Good point....but that's like taking one step forward and 1/2 step backward.

Tough call....good luck either way.

you would probably get max 16k out of the truck.. unless he is willing to pay all the shipping expenses and giving you 10k on top of his truck i wouldnt
