I have Comcast down here. So far its been good. Not much in the way of high-speed internet in my little town, so I hope it holds up for me with working at home.

I have had FiOS for almost 2 years, and it puts my Comcast to SHAME!!!!

Comcast was butt slow compared to FiOS (in my area atleast).... I can't complain a bit... and since i got it when it was initially introduced, i still have the cheap price too..! :)

oh snap! a member works for the company, i'm busted.

heh, i've been getting automated calls from them almost daily about service area sum'n or other.. for the past few months.

i've always liked my service, just this "works when it wants to" thing is gettin' old. my only real gripe is that i can't have speed channel unless i buy the sportspak

I don't know how you folks hear that FiOS is so bad......

I don't have FiOS tv, but the internet is lightyears better than comcast, and in 2 years, i've never had an outage!

I think all services perform differently in different areas. Sounds like you're lucky

Comcast ticks me off on the pricing... $67 a month for expanded basic, ANALOG!!! And that's no premium channels! The only good thing I can say is I rarely have an outage. So I'm interested to see what the price will be on Fios. One thing about it... since it's all fiber optic, it needs electricty, so when it gets installed, it needs a power source. I'm not sure how that's done. If I understand correctly, a new outside box from Verizon gets installed, as it will have battery back up in case of power outages.

Anyone have opinions on Dish?

Had Comcast in the N Hills for a year. They made about 6 trips to the house for various issues. Internet speed never got close to what I paid for. They left loose connectors on the pole. They had to replace cables. However, when it worked it was ok.

Then I moved to the S Hills and the fun really started. I was told to take my boxes with me there would be no problem. HA! The area I moved to was an old Adelphia area still using Scientific Atlanta boxes that seemed to be 10 yrs old. So when they came out, they had no boxes for me. Came back a few days later with only ONE good box. After about two weeks I finally got a working HD box, it lasted maybe a week. A week after that I had FIOS installed, all was well for a year until...

Verizon recently added more HD channels so naturally I had to have them. Order through remote, didn't work. Order online, nope. Call. This is always the last option for me, I have zero tolerance for inept operators. I pay good money for service AND customer service. I remained patient while I was transferred four times over 50 minutes. I finally got a hold of a lady who knew they actually introduced new channels, but she must of been having a bad day. They wanted $15 more a month for a few more channels, I told her I only wanted two channels (FSN and SPEED) - well you can get them for $15. This went back and forth for a few minutes and I asked if she could hold so I could call Comcast to see what they offer. No dice, she wanted to end the call unless I wanted to order. So I told her how much of a treat she was to work with and I was glad I pay for the awesome help and hung up.
I eventually got the channels early on a Sunday morning for about $2 more a month and a bump to 20mb service.

Both of them have good pictures, both of them ass rape you for monthly rates, both of them have horrible customer support over the phone...if you have both available go with the cheaper package.

I have FIOS and I have no complaints so far. I have their Telephone, cable and internet all in one nice package. I pay less now for all 3 items than when I had DSl, verizon phone, and comcast cabe. My comcast was junk, if there was so much as a rain drop outside it would go out, not to mention the fact that I would have to pay even more to get any decent channels. I mean really, like i need multiple news channels, oxygen, or qvc. I am happy with my cwitch, and will never go back.

This is so funny, i work for the cable company too, there are problems with both services, i see them all. verizon and comcast both have issues, just remember, when you call the "phone" company to get tv its probably going to suck, and if you call the "tv" company for your phone its probably going to suck. North hills sucks if you have comcast they are trying to upgrade but are just making a mess of it....the old Adelphia systems that comcast bought are even worse than the North Hills .625" plant. both the internet services are about equal, I think comcast has the best tv, and of course verizon has the best phone, they should.....they're the phone company!!
