I am new to the site. I have a 90 LX with a 306 in it, Brodix heads, a custom cam by Buddy Rawls, and a RPM II intake. I also have a Vortech S-trim with a stock pulley on it. Never been to the strip with it. Was thinking about going to Pittsburgh Raceway Park with it. Any ideas what e.t. it will run?

Its an easy low 11 second CAPABLE setup, but if you've never been to the track then I'd expect you to be in the 12's. Do you have any dyno numbers for the combo? It should be a screamer!

97LaserRed> Have not had it dynoed, yet. Not sure on the weight. It's pretty much full weight with the exception of aluminum heads, A/C was taken off, and Centerline Convo Pros. It's got a T-5 in it and 2.73's.

Killercanary> What would you say this combo would dyno? I was thinking around 400???

What gears would you all suggest for me? I drive it on the street and have never been down the quarter yet with it. I've been to the track a few times with a 85 GT 5 speed and it went 15.2 It felt a lot faster on the street, though.

3.73's or 3.55's would do you right IMO

4.30's preferably. 4.10's minimum.
Lots of gear fear around here.

With an S trim Chris? I wouldn't do more than a 3.73 personally if it was my car since its a H/C/I combo with a vortec. With the trap speeds he's likely to see it'd be over 6200rpms easily going through the traps. If he doesn't have numbers I assume that it hasn't been tuned and thus may have the stock rev limiter.

How many lbs of boost are you seeing now with the pulley setup you have? Knowing that will make a HP guess easier.

I missed the s-trim part. Thought it was N/A. In that case 3.73's sound right.

About 7 1/2 lbs. I am thinking it's running rich, the thing sucks up gas pretty bad.

I have been looking around some other forums and I see most supercharged 306's are in the 12's. I want to be in the 11's, though. A small cube motor like this 306 would be hard pressed to get into the 11's N/A. I am not talking about some high compression, pop up piston, solid roller, carbed 306.

You should definitely be able to get into the 11s w/ gears, traction and practice. You'll trap close to 120mph which is easily 11 sec. potential but ET depends on alot of factors.
I'd suggest 3.55-3.73 gears depending on how you use the car and what tire.
Any pics?
Love to have more Foxbody guys here

true, but by FAR the exception and a race car set-up.
If this guy has never been to the track, he should be happy w/ 12s IMO.

That's really hard to believe there. Probably a 347 and claiming it's a 302. Or hitting it with a shot of laughing gas.

You dont need cubes to run pal. He proves it. I know him very well. No juice, straight na. Very well thought out combo and good driving. The bottom end bearing caps have never been cracked loose.
