If you go new, I really recomend HO Fibertrends. Lots of guys here have their hood, best on the market IMO.

I have their hood on my Capri if you want to see the quality before buying.

While we are on the subject of hoods for this year car. What do ya'll think of the 4" cowl that extends to the windshield? Think my hood is 3.5 or 4" now havent looked at it in awhile lol.

I'm not really into the 4 inch ones. For a track car they look great but this car is going to be a DD when i move down to Tennessee.

I work with the guy cam303 is talking about. I took some pics but it was getting dark and there was snow on the car. I sent the pics to my brother. I will try to take some better pics this weekend. It looks like a 2 cowl. It is in good shape and is hinged with a hood latch. The guy would need your stock hood to put back on his car so the neighbors won't complain. Give me your email and i will send the pics to you.

still no dice. i've had a few leads but none really worked out. i thought i was going to get a new hood but they only make it for 87-93 foxes.

i know. theres not alot to choose from for 85/86 stangs.if all else fails you could try to find a decent scoop for it. ive thought about that.

The main problem is that the hood is messed up so i was looking for a new one. i don't really have an option...

i was looking into fabbing a 87-93 one so i would have more options. but it looks like that would be really expensive

yea i seen that post. i always thought they were very similiar except the front lip. just cut 2" off the front lip and you got what you need. but if they were that close of a match i guess people would be doing it all the time. better to find out from other people that to cut up a good (and expensive) hood.

The 83-86 Mustangs have the choice of either a Cowl hood or a Mach 1 hood. I have a Cervini Mach 1 hood on my 86 GT.
I have a 84 notchback with a new 2 1/2" Cervini that I will install. Here is the look woth the Mach 1 hood.
