I found out this morning that a soldier that was on the Tugboat I was the chief engineer on went overboard into the Atlantic Ocean Sunday. He went outside due to feeling sick and as of right now we have been told that a railing or safety line broke and he fell overboard. He was lost and we found out later this afternoon that his body was recovered by a fishing vessel. He went into the water off the coast of North Carolina into 58 degree water. He just returned from Kuwait not long ago and had a child while he was deployed.

Things like this make us realize how much we really take for granted. Our job in the Army Boatfield is an inherently dangerous one and we sometimes forget that.

My thoughts and prayers go out to His family. Please keep them in your prayers.

Thank You,

CW2 Christopher A. Harris

This just goes to show that you don't have to be "in the line of fire" day in and day out 24/7 to sacrifice for our country.

RIP to your friend and we will pray for him and his family.

God Bless Our Troops !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Alot Everyone.

Just found out that they didn't find his body or they haven't said it was his body that the fishing vessel had found. I pray that they find his body so that his family can have some sense of closure.

Is it a fact that he has passed on? OR could there be some miracle that he is somewhere? Im just looking at the lighter side of such a dark story..Either way my thoughts and prayers go out to his family/friends/and yourself.

That is a good way to look at it. I hope and pray that is the case but the coast guard searched over 1572 square nautical miles looking for him and didn't find him.

Thanks
