Anyone got a tranny jack they want to sell? I'm not gonna try to wrestle around that T56 again without one.

Now what are you doing to that thing? Didnt you just put in a clutch?

Thanks guys! I checked on ebay and it looks like they make adaptors that go onto regular floor jacks, that's probably what I'll end up doing or just make my own which I had considered before.

Yeah, the new throwout bearing is toast :duh: I just hope nothing else is bad.

Ray, I'll be changing mine if you want to make a day of it.

Hmm, I'll let you know Ed. As of right now I'll say probably not because I don't know if it would be safe to drive out to your place. It's not just squealing, it's broken, aka. there's a piece of it missing  I drove it home from work that way, but I don't think it would be a good idea to go much farther. Plus I've already got it up on jackstands and have the driveshaft and exhaust off. Thanks for the offer though. If I have trouble getting this floor jack adapter to work I'll slap it back together and limp it on out your way.

With 2 people, you won't even need the adapter. Just offer Colin or Joe some beer and pizza and I'm sure one of them will come give you a hand.

Yeah, I'm sure they would have no problem helping me out other than my cold ass concrete floor, haha. I just like doing stuff by myself for some stupid reason. I've had the tranny in and out of the fox a few times by myself with no trouble, but the T56 is WAY heavier that the T5. I did the clutch swap by myself with just a regular jack and a home made cradle last time, but I figured I'd try to do it right this time and get the right tools. The adaptors are only about $30, I just hope they actually work ok.

Getting to the top bolt on the passenger side is really the only real PIA. Plus when you're working off of jack stands, a second person really makes it easier to get it down and out from under the car. Ever since my Dad and I got the rack, I will NEVER do another tranny laying on the ground under the car!

Yeah, I'm sure the rack makes things much easier. I only have access to one of those and it has nothing to do with cars :biglaugh: . I really don't mind the fox, I think the T5 only weighs around 90 pounds, but the T56 is more like 160 and that's an awkward chunk of $hit to be moving around under the car without some kind of mechanical assistance.

I don't think they weigh much more than the T-5. At least it doesn't feel like it. Guess you better quit drinking beer and start eating Wheaties! :lazy:
BTW, when can I come over and use that rack you have access to? :flash:

I got those #'s from the ford racing website. That's about what they list for shipping weights. The actual #'s are T5: 83 lbs. and T56: 161 lbs. if their shipping weights are accurate. As for the rack, we may have to negotiate something at some point depending on how bad I need to use your rack

Thanks Joe, I'll let you know if I need a hand. Either way I can come help with yours. I've had the T5 in and out of my fox quite a few times and we should be able to breeze through that pretty quick.

Will do. I'm probably gonna order one this week. Once I get it I'll let you know how it works out. Sure beats buying a dedicated tranny jack if it actually works.

Let me know about that tranny jack adapter. How it works out, if worth having.
