ive had my bushmaster for about 4 years and love it. if you want a selection of ar-15s go to ace sporting goods on rt. 19 in little washington right b4 you get to interstate 70 or gander mt. in washington. i have a really nice bushnell with a 3 point tac harness front rail system with vertical grip w/ built in bi pod and light and red dot system.... im not much for the red dot. but its ok for blinking.

If I were you the only AR15 I would even consider buying is a Colt or LMT, they are about as close to mil-spec as you can get, but a little pricey and hard to get.

If your looking to get a decent AR15 but not spend alot of cash then check out a Stag Arms or a Smith&Wesson M&P. I'd stay away from all others.

dpms are good fire arms but the metal is constructed differently then bushmaster. bushmaster is mil spec...and is good for a serious shooter. dmps is deff an awsome gun too... bc of the price and various types of ar's that you can get. smith and wessons mp 15 is an awsome gun too esp with the flip up sights and flat top rail... but lacks a carry handle... *atleast my buddy doesnt have one* he just got rid of it to for 1100. a month or so to late

There is no AR15 that is true mil-spec, as I said there are a few that are as close as you can get. Colts and LMT's use mil-spec barrels, 1/7 twist, 5.56 chambers, 4150 chromoly steel and have hard chrome bore and chamber, they also use properly staked carriers and MP tested bolts, mil-spec buffer tubes, correct F marked front sight bases for use with flip up rear sights. There are a few top notch AR's but most people have never heard of them, like Noveske, Daniel Defense, BCM, these are also pricey but very well made rifles. These particular guns are the choice of top instructers at carbine classes due to their ability to perform. Most other guns don't always make it through their demanding courses without failures, Colt's and LMT's and these other few mentioned have the least amount of problems.

As I said if your looking for a rifle just to plink with then the others will do, if you want the best tool to perform a job then check out the ones I mentioned.

i dont want to buy something twice its not going to get shoot alot but when ever i shoot i want it to be accurate but keep the opinions and dont want to spend more than 1500.

From what I have seen, you can build the one you want also. There are tons of parts out there for an AR15, I was just at the Westmoreland Gun show yesterday and there was a tone of stuff there. You can start with a stripped lower and go from there. Just an idea.

Before the election that was a good route to go, but now the availability of quality parts are very very hard to find, and when you do find them they usually sell for 50-100% more than before.

I would just but a complete rifle, as most manufacturers are not selling parts because they are building rifles to try and keep up with the demand.

BUILD YOUR OWN. Complete name brand AR's are way over priced now. You can find a lower for $135, Complete upper w/bolt and barrel for $400, and parts kit for$75-100. There easy to put together

I think you need to go do some price checking, find me a quality complete upper for 400.00 and I'll buy 10 of them. Stripped lowers are selling for about 200.00, you may found some cheaper but they don't last long.

Save yourself the aggrivation and just buy a complete rifle.

Not sure if that supplier is still on backorder or not. I ordered a SBR upper the day after Obama got elected and didnt get it till the begining of Feb. lowers can still be found at gun shows for under $150. They're brand names you've never heard of, but they work.

Like I said, quality upper, even a model1 complete chromelined upper is 450.00, and the wait is like forever. I personally would'nt buy a model1, it's like the V6 of mustangs compared to the other options.

Guns are like anything else, you get what you pay for, yes they probably will work for most people, but when put to the test they fail every time.

Friend of mine ordered a complete upper with parts for $650, He will have a bunch into it though once he gets the rails and grips he wants.

My cousin ordered a 50 BMG upper for the ar15 lower, but that was $$$$, still on waiting list for it.
I mat be looking into a Romanian or Bulgarian AK47 myself at some point. Everyone I know is getting AR's I want to be a little different.

Things have slowed a bit but parts are still hard to get and at a premium. See you waited 3 months for a double star, before the election you could find anything at reasonable prices.

I agree and it's all for what you intend to do with it. Yes, buy plenty of ammo cause that is even in more of a demand right now than guns:goodidea:.
