That is a good looking Dog.. we have 2 Beagles. they are super smart dogs. We have ours trained to smack a bell that we have hanging on the doorknob when they want out.
1 word of advice though is get a sandbox. Ours dig like crazy. i got sick of them tearing up my yard, so i got them a sandbox and now they dig in there, not in my yard.
and im not posting this being nice cause im scared of you.

My beagle looked just like yours when he was a pup. He's 13 now and still get arougn really well, not wuite as enegretic as when he was a pup, but stil like to run around the house upon occasion.

I have a question for the Beagle ownwers. Do they wonder off if you leave them out. We have an English Bulldog now. He never leaves the yard. We are going to get another dog soon. We were thinking about Bassett hounds, Beagles, or Bloodhounds. I worry about all of these dogs picking up a scent and wondering off. Any input?
I have some questions too..How much do beagle puppys eat? Mine has barely been eating, its 7 1/2 weeks old..

Beagles will "run". If they find a scent that interests them, they will take off. They need to be tied or securely fenced in or they'll take off.

I second that. Yo don't let a beagle loose or they will be gone looking for a scent.
As for the eating thing, my Beagle was never a big eater, I guess it may just be the dog sometimes.

Our beagle is never tied. when she has her nose to the ground she will wander but all I have to do is call her and she comes, but we don't leave her out with out being with her.

I use to have one when we lived out in elderton. It would go off in the woods for like an hour but always come home.
cute puppy. very smart dogs, and very vocal....

Beautiful puppy!! A friend of mine had a beagle, it was too smart for it's own good. He kept her in a large fenced in yard but she learned how to actually climb the fence to get out. The bad thing is she wondered onto the highway and got hit. It was sad, she was a good dog.

Yeah and they bark like crazy too. Our neighbors have two and they never shut-up.
