Larry Nance ran this Cobalt in Pro Stock. The Bealko brothers will run it in Top Sportsman and maybe some Quick 8 or 16 races:

Tom was uncharacteristically late on the tree. He's done something right to rack up the Wallys and Iron Men over the years.

I couldn't figure what that was, T. I thought it was something with the pic or camera. I knew it wasn't fuel. Is that from washing it?

The pass with the pic, the tractor went 10.00 at 70mph. He was only allowed to run the 1/8th.

Bob, I got there way late, like 4:30. It was enough to get a fix in though. And to get ready to kick Mikey for giving the stripe back AGAIN.

I think Sheehan was dialed in the 10.40s or so.

Mark's '69 was in the 11.20s. The spot box has his dial in, 11.25.

Marks '69 ran 11.27@119.49 against me on last run.

I'll superglue that mop to the track Chuck.

Sheehans Chrysler runs great for a sb..he runs 10.30's consistently with it I'm pretty sure.

Niiicce pics! U can see me and my pops in the one Ares shot near the end of the stagein lanes, gettin our heavy duty fix in. Last rounds, haha!
I did get a chance to talk to the driver of the older blue stang, said I guess his wife gets on here alot. Scotty the 08' champ too. Met him at the practice tree event.
That tractor was wild, it could of actually took on a quicker Jr. dragster, lol. My dad bein a mopar guy we talked to the Sheenan guyz too, they said they run like 10 NHRA events a year. NovaPRP lost in the semi's I think, of the gamblers race.

Yes, Mark Brewer, owner of the Motorworks, has the '69. His wife Christine is on here, christine57, but I've only seen her post occasionally. She's more active over on Bracket Talk on wwwdragraceresults.com.

Hopefully the weather cooperates for Saturday, straight test n tune, no gambler's.

Check that tire for rubbing. It looks like the twist is pretty good this shot:

I don't think its rubbing but man that cars twisting. I'm going to make extreme changes to the shocks next TNT.

Ever consider an anti-roll bar?

Ever consider an anti-roll bar?

Yeah thats probably the only thing that will help this car, but this is the last year for this car and I don't want to pay someone to install it. I'm not very good at welding. I'm building a new fox for next year that will have one for sure. I don't think I can fix it with just the shocks.

I don't think I can fix it with just the shocks.

How about a compromise and throw an air bag in the RR spring ;) Mine actually works okay. It's no ARB for sure, but gives you something to tune with and it can be installed in a few hours at most.

CobraII
04-10-2009, 10:22 AM
The car always left hard, but now you really see it with the new springs. Did you put the air bag back in, or did you leave it out? I'd say try some extra air in there. Tomorrow would be a good test day, but I don't think the weather is going to cooperate.

Balaska347
04-10-2009, 10:27 AM
I couldn't get the old bags out of the other springs and good ol' Moroso said " you won't need the air bags with these springs" :rofl:I ought to send him a pick of the car with the new springs. As hard as it was to get those springs in I doubt im taking them back out. Atleast the car hooks.

CobraII
04-10-2009, 10:37 AM
I hope a shock adjustment helps then. It would be nice to see it not twist as much. But as long as the car hooks, and you're not rubbing the tire, it's all good.

We tried the moroso rear springs in pure stocks car years ago. They are way too soft. It used to roll over like that before the anti roll bar was put in and then after it was installed it would bottom out and unload the tires even with the adjustable shocks on the stiffest setting. His car is a stick though so it does hit the rear a lot harder that yours does.

Balaska347
04-10-2009, 03:45 PM
Yeah I agree 100% they are way too soft. Just driving it to the track when I would hit a dip in the road my street tires would rub. This never happened before. Im thinking about putting the old springs back on.
