Well i decided to get myself one more toy once my dirtbikes sell and definetly decided on a motorcycle and was planning on getting another crotch rocket but after riding my landlords harley yesterday i felt alot better on that than i did on my 08 gsxr i had up in NY.. So i decided to start looking around. I have found a few that i like but need some imput before i shell out the doough for one.. I am looking to keep it to 8k and under.

I was looking at this last time i was up Z&M and fell in love with this one so what you guys think?

Nice looking bike, but if you can get something bigger than a Sportster, do it. I had one, didn't know any better when I bought it. Its physically smaller, than the rest of the Harley line and even if its a Harley, Harley guys will still bust your balls because its a Sportster. Its plenty of bike to cruise, even two-up, just trying to save you some regrets in 6 months. Although I believe now, Harley will give you exactly what you paid for it within a year, when you want to trade it in to upgrade.

rode an ironhead sporty for 6 years. i liked the sporty better. i bought it in san jose and rode it home. 3600 miles 8 days lol. you will upgrade to bigger bike later. but had no probs riding the sportster. plus teh new ones are supposed to be very refined compared to what i rode lol.

I just picked up this 1200 Sportster Custom last August. It actually handles pretty good for what it is.

I find myself bitching about the sucky brakes and scraping hard parts all over the place. Then, you think you're going 150mph, you look down and you're doing 90mph. The thing shakes and vibrates and there's no wind protection whatsoever.

I'M NOT SELLING OR TRADING IT, THOUGH!!!

There is just something stupid fun about it. Maybe it's the sucky brakes or the shaking and vibrating and it's stupid loud, too. Mine had the Vance & Hines slip-ons when I got it. :goodidea:

The Nightster actually got me looking at bikes again. That's the way to go if you're OK with the single seat. They look awesome and the '07-up Evo engines are fuel injected, too. I got a hella deal on this Custom and picked it up. I don't regret it.

Like somebody already stated, the bigger bikes got more power and more glory, but the 1200 Sportys are faster, lighter and handle better.

Scott, if it's nice Friday or Saturday, I'll let you take it for a ride... if you hand me $8,000 in cash to hold onto while you're gone. :sticktonge:
