View Full Version : Rocks along the side of the road

First off, I'm cheap. Why pay for something that you don't have to? Anyways we're looking to add a bunch of rock for landscaping. I'm not looking for anything round, I'm after big flat random rocks. So I'm driving along McLaughlin Run in USC and I see a few of these things lying there. They've got no parking signs posted along the whole stretch and since I don't live in USC I didn't dare stop. Police station is right there and I don't want to hear it about 'didn't you see the signs', tint, etc. It got me to thinking though, is it against the law to snatch these kinds of rocks up? Anyone know a good spot for finding big flat stone?

I can't get over the suspicion that this could a practical joke setup. Actually I'll trust it's not, I'm always up for a good laugh.

Seriously though I'm not working right now so spending anything on the yard is far down the list. Kills me because I got the time to get into a good project instead of finishing the ones I should be doing. May just keep my eyes open for roadside finds for now.

I do appreciate the help. If something changes money wise or I get picked up for snatchin public rocks I'll keep your guy in mind.
