So after I fix my bad ACT sensor, the car starts to run better but very, very rich it seems. So I check the fuel pressure and it is close to 50 PSI and lots of fuel smell, etc..
I pull the vaccuum line from the adjustable fuel pressure regulator and set it to 40 PSI and take it for a test drive.
The car was running great... lots of power... not lots of traction at all.
So yes, I get on the damned thing waaay too much for a guy running a new Vortech with an FMU and no tune yet.
Lots of f-ing white smoke out of the passenger pipe and I lose 1/3 of my coolant all over the street. The shit is everywhere.
I have oil in the coolant but no apparent coolant in the oil. Oil level is still good and no milky anything just clean oil.
It was running really strong until I F'd it up.
WTF does this sound like... a blown head gasket or worse?
I hope it is just a gasket.

Possible intake gasket or timing cover gasket.
Pressure test it and you'll find your leak!
Do a compression test while your at it. I'm sure your fine.

head gasket
take it apart and replace them both
read the gaskets and you should easily see where it blowed

Brian, just curious why I should do this? I trust you and I surely will, but just wondered why.
Thanks much, Vince.

the coolant and oil may really has no significant meaning here. Not every blown head gasket puts in oil in coolant or coolant in oil.Head gaskets can blow so many ways. There is a very slim chance that this could be an intake gasket but doubt you'd see it on the gasket considering how they usually rip coming off.You could pressure check this with putting a pressure tester on the radiator. As much coolant as you pushed out it is going to leak off.fill it full of coolant and test it.Take all the plugs out of it and see it it runs out of the cylinders. If you get any coolant out of 2,3,6,or 7 it is a head gasket 100%.You are going to find though after all this that is it a head gasket anyways. There is no way I would go through all this trouble changing out the intake gaskets and putting this this thing back together and then tear it apart again bcause it was a head gasket.

Thanks! Guys, I really appreciate all of the expertise that you share. I now have more than one way to verify that it is a head gasket. Will let you know and will put up all of the gorey pics so that you all can make fun of me. :sticktonge:
Now can anyone recommend a brand/type of head gasket for when I put this beeee-otch back together again? I am talking about next time I expect the F'ing head to pop off and go through the hood and land in the passenger seat before the head gasket goes. Do they make them out of titanium or petrified redwood trees or baby seal stem cells or something? I'm mo put some JB Weld on this fugger next time too. ;)

While I see you are being funny with this post, I must tell you that if the car is properly tuned you should not have head gasket failures. I would rather a head gasket blow than a bend a rod, break a crank, or shatter a piston. Think of the head gasket as a fuse that will blow before much more expensive things do. Don't get the mother of all sealing head gaskets in a combo like yours, its not a good idea.

Lol I didn't want to make fun of you. Just curious how it looked. Def check plugs and go for fel-pro gaskets

If you want the crank to fall out before losing a gasket put some cometic gaskets on it. Another way to know if you have a blown gasket is to smell the radiator fill opening, if it smells like exhaust youve got a blown fire ring.
