Points Racing Days at Tracks?

So I'm planning on heading to Quaker City with a few friends this Saturday...it's "regular racing", not Test N Tune. This will be in my street driven car that I'll be driving to the track.

I've never been to the track for this before. How does this go down? Is it basically the same format as T&T; meaning pull in, head to a staging lane, get teched in? I'm assuming from what I've read on here that I'll get two time trials, then it'll be bracket racing? What class will I race in (is there a street class or something)?

Any tips/help/advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure what QCR's classes are but at PRP trophy class is the beginner class. I think street legal is the beginner class at QCR.

That's a good question. I think when tracks say "points this Saturday/Sunday/etc", it's not clear that the raceday is not restricted to only points racers. All racers are welcome on points days. The only difference is, if you're not in points, you don't get awarded any for the year end prizes (and the payouts are HUGE for points at PRP!).

Street legal/sport compact is 11.50 and up, no nitrous. That is more of the beginner class if you're new to bracket racing. If you're quicker than 11.50, you'll need to look at either Footbrake or Pro.

It's been awhile since I've been over to run at QCR, so it may have changed. Last time I ran there, tech was over by the guardrail that separates the staging lanes from the pits. Ask when you buy your time card. The folks there have always treated me nicely, as has every other track I've been to. After tech, go set yourself up in a pit spot, and listen for your call to the lanes, and which lane. You can ask the tech guy what the run order is, so you know what class runs before you. 2 time trials, and then go into eliminations. You'll have to put your dial in on the car for the eliminations.
