I was at PRP today and heard in the next couple months there will be 2 Motocross tracks built behind the tower. Anyone know if this is true for sure? I'll ask Frank Sunday. It would be nice. We go to Slippery rock dunes when we go, but that place is far away. We haven't even been out this year yet. On a side note Cleavland brothers had heavy equipment up there today that you could operate if you wanted to. They let my 10 year old run a big excavator by himself with about 10 seconds of training. The boy thought he was in heaven. When he scooped his first bucket full of dirt up and dropped it the look on his face was unreal. It was amazing how fast he picked it up.
Thats great Glenn. Sometimes I feel like a big kid at work doing the same thing. HAHAHAHAHA
If I would have known they were doing something like this, I would have made a point to come out. Any dozers there?

That is interesting. I forget his name, but another of the Tedesco relatives is now in charge of "operations". He has been HEAVILY involved with BMX racing for a lot of years as a promotor / organizer. I had only heard of this as MX, but based on the new involvement..........
At a minimum we can get a good rumor going :D

They are building some kind of track, not sure if it's mx or bmx. Neither is my cup of tea, but good for the track if they can create another use for the land. The Tedesco brothers' Uncle Bobby Tedesco is the one with the bmx experience and is the PRP director of operations (I think).

I was gonna say 4+ years ago.i couldn't remember exactly. i know it was atleast 2. it was right after the name change. i remember talking about it with a buddy back in 06. they actually moved a few piles of dirt back then too but never continued. it was supposed to be a mx track and a arenacross track. not bmx.

What excuse will there be for canceling race days at the MX track? Can't blame the rain. LOL.

I can see it now, someone spits on the dirt and there will be a 2 hour cleanup.

a more realistic excuse will be because of lack of water. with normal race tracks some moisture in/on the ground is a good thing. they periodically water the tracks during the day to control dust.

sometimes there can be too much water like last weekend in the first few races at pleasure valley.. Dave said that the mud was the whole way up to his pegs during the start

Good point. We have lost several dirt tracks over the years because of the lack of water (loosing wells, acess rights, etc). Takes a lot of water ro make a dirt track come together and you sure cant afford to buy it. The other thing that hurt a lot of the dirt tracks was not being able to use calcium anymore and neededing even more water.

Dave said that the mud was the whole way up to his pegs during the startthat's nothing. i've ridden there in torential down pours. the ruts in the turns were like creeks. water in them was knee deep in places. i won that race. GOOD TIMES. unless it has rained continously starting a day or two before and during the race it won't get cancelled unless, its not an important race. sometimes they will shorten the laps or only run you one moto instead of 2.
