I'll spend some time thinkin before I vote. Might come up with some other ideas too but idk. You didn't like the steeler mobile idea with the textured black with yellow pin stripe. I'll come up with something, even if it's just for the lols

With tinted windows all black rims would look sick.

FWIW....
I love the 20th AE GTI's. They are gorgeous cars. :goodidea:
My vote goes to stock. Stock, those wheels looked great on those cars as they did on R32's as well.
Painted stockers can look good if done right but more times then not they just end up looking like dirty wheels that you haven't had a chance to clean in a while.

Again, I still say stock. If I had to pick a color though, with yellow, I would go with white.

Keep them original and save for a nice chrome or polished lip black or grey centered wheel.painting them would just look like brake dust you cant wash off !!

Painting the car is the worst idea I ever heard since there are only 1000 made

+1 GAZILLION!!!!!!!!
I *HATE* dark colored wheels. Why would you want them to look dirty all the time. The person that came up with the idea to use dark colored wheels should have been hanged on the spot!

I think both look good, but I would stick with stock because the finish will be more durable and I don't think I would want to go through all of the trouble to prep and paint them. If the wheels had significant blemishes on them, however, I would have them prepped and powdercoated though.
Couple more..

I like the GTI's a lot. I was in the market for one for a while but ended up going with a different car because I couldn't find one that had the right options/color.

My vote is for stock. I think VW did a nice job on the factory rims on those cars. And isn't the car already pretty darn low? With the roads around here I think any lower and you're going to be asking for trouble, and you'll be repainting the air dam every year...
I say save the cash for performance mods!!!!
Sweet looking V-dub! :goodidea:
