Doing some head gaskets, steeda full length subs, 3.73's and a few other misc things, like painting his cylinder heads etc. Nice clean car, excellent condition inside and out! I really like the steeda full length subs and really push guys to use these. They aren't cheap but they are the best fitting subs I have ever installed. I have installed many other brands and have seen plenty of local home made stuff, I will take the steeda pieces any day:goodidea:

X2! Where did you learn to weld like that? You should give classes on Saturday mornings. I'd be the 1st to sign up to learn to lay a bead like that! :goodidea:

Removal of existing subs is time and material...

Thanks guys! I pretty much have learned how to mig at the shop, had some classes when I was in the carpenters but nothing to remember! It really isn't that hard, it's all about prep, wire speed and heat. I have a steady hand but if you didn't you can still wing it:goodidea:

I cannot wait to drive it and feel the difference. It was pretty creaky and rickety before. Long overdue...

I got my car tuned today at Mike's and it put down 378 HP and 394 TQ. I am very impressed with how drivable it is. It has never run so smoothly since I bought it. The thing runs great now.

Mike, thanks for the great work and excellent treatment .

Also, a big thanks to Jon Lund for the great tune :goodidea:. Jon really knows his stuff.

Wow, those #'s sound super low, what was the boost?
If that on 6-7lbs. of boost then that isnt too bad.
I had a similar combo.....gt-40 irons, small cam, cobra intake, and s-trim made 505 rwhp and 467 rwtw an 13.9lbs. of boost.

From the graph it looks like it made the peak TQ number at around 4250 RPMs and that was at just over 6 PSI of boost. The peak HP came in at 5300 RPMs and that was at 9 PSI of boost.

My heads are not ported nor did I have bigger valves installed. They are the 1.84/1.46 valves. I have no cam... still running the stock cam. I also have no intercooler. The air charge temp was around 184 degrees Farenheit at the time of the last pull. Given these things, do the numbers make sense?

For a stock cam, and 9lbs. that sounds pretty close.
If you would ever choose to turn up the wick then just slap a nice cam in their upgrade your valvesprings, and throw a smaller blower pully on there for more boost!

My heads were also untouched and no intercooler. Hell even if you throw a 2.95 pulley on there now I bet you could easily eclipse the 400rwhp mark.

Good luck bud!:goodidea:

Thanks for the advice and encouragement.
I suppose even with such a pulley change I would need another tune, eh?

If you would want to be on the safe side I would say yes.
I went from a 3.125 and 14lbs. to a 2.85 and made about 20lbs. and it didnt affect me. The car was tuned for the 3.125 pulley. I ran for close to 2 years on the same 3.125 tune but running the 2.85 and had no issues.

This isnt to say you wont, i'd always be leary....... Good luck!

Does anyone know if there is an 8" crank pulley available for the 94/95 cars with Voretech SCs?

The stock (and only one listed on Vortech's website) is the 6.88" crank pulley that came with my kit already. I was thinking of throwing a bigger crank puley on the car.

ASP makes them but they are custom order and are in the $300 range.
I just ordered my 7" ASP pulley from Summit for $90

Is the 7" ASP virtually the same as the 6.88" one from Vortech?

It adds apprx. 1000 rpm to your blower speed and gives you a little more belt wrap than the 6.87 stock Vortech piece.
