Be Carefull... do a google search on ford and this issue ;) 2005/2006 Ford was doing the same thing. Got into a big flap with some right wing religeous group, etc ,etc. None the less, GM sure didnt invent target groups for marketing.

Have you ever traveled out of this area and watched TV? Check out the Car company ad's, you will see we are targeted as well as those regions ;)

I suppose I stand corrected..lol..I just don't understand why, or what the point of trying to get a certain orientation/gender to drive a certain vehicle..I see how they target the general population, obviously, but why a certain orientation?..
Whether they're white, black, purple, gay, straight whatever, they'll buy what they want regardless.

The news that the Chevrolet Camaro beat the Ford Mustang in June sales is being heralded by GM as some sort of breakthough, a triumph of good product over weak sales.
To some degree, GM has it right. The new Camaro is a compelling product and deserves some credit for getting buyers to pry open their wallets during one of the worst recessions of all time.
But let's face it, the Camaro hype machine has been running overtime for years now. From concept cars to movie cars to prototypes in the desert, the Camaro has enjoyed so much advanced publicity that anything less than a sell out would have been catastrophic.
To call a victory for the Camaro in the pony car war at this point seems a little premature. Let's wait until the early adopters get their cars and then see how sales pan out. Right now the overabundance of SS models being sold suggests that most of the buyers are true enthusiasts, but as we all know, it's the V6 models that end up carrying cars like the Camaro and the Mustang. We'll see how long that lasts.

The 2010 Chevrolet Camaro is facing a possible recall after several owners have experienced failures with their manual-equipped SS models. According to several reports on the Camaro5 (http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30226) website, hard launches have caused output shaft failures, especially when using the factory launch control.
According to Autoblog (http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/13/breaking-early-camaro-ss-manual-transmission-failures-reported/), Chevrolet is looking into the issue and has halted additional deliveries of manual-equipped SS cars for now. The Camaro SS uses the Tremec 6060 gearbox which is used in several other high-performance V8 applications.
