i was gonna buy a set from american muscle for my car since my cobra r's are white. it is no joke about 3 days of dd to get them to the point where they look dirty to me.
so i was thinking about getting the covers and was wondering what the running opinion on them were. anybody know anybody with them? if so how much dust do they actually catch.

I personally think they look really tacky. I don't think they actually block much brake dust. There is a tangerine orange stang that I keep seeing in pictures from mustang week that was built as a tribute to someone (I believe it was a soldier) that has them and they look really unusual.
here's a couple pics:

If you have the time to go to the Mineral Beach Car Curise, there is a guy that owns a Roush that has the covers on his brakes. You could asked him about them.

I dont think the red ones look very good. They stand out too much so everyone can clearly see that they are just covers. The black ones I think look good though

I thought they were real cheesy but I have to be honest, I saw a set of black (or silver) ones at the Woodward cruise and they didn't look too bad in person. I actually had to look twice to realize they were just covers.
Much better than ratty stock brakes behind nice wheels.

I think they are cheesy, plain and simple. I wouldn't do it.

+1, although I've never seen them in person. The idea of a fake brake bothers me though, even though it rhymes.

buy the duplicolor caliper paint kit, comes with everything you need, brush, paint, mixer, tape, an bam takes about 20 min if your fast and you have painted brake calipers(real ones). they make a variety of colors ranging from yellow, blue, red, black an i believe thats it. an the kits only around 20 bux instead of almost 100 for fake covers

taylor. the original purpose was to help increase the period in between wheel cleanings. i was actually looking at them from a functional point of view.
