So anyhow I'm looking to build a motor, but i'm pretty torn on what i really want to build. On one hand i want something strong and that can trap 140mph, but on the other hand i don't feel like spending 7 grand. I want to keep my current setup. I would step up the turbo obviously if i go bigger. I just don't know what i want as a block. Should i go dart, or boss, or what. If the sportsman blocks were still around i'd just buy one of them and call it a day. All in all i'd say what i want the same thing i just blew up maybe a tad more. mid 10 second car all day spinning on drag radials is my ultimate goal. I think i'm gonna get away from drag slicks and just run what i brung in street trim. I appreciate all the input. engine builders where u at.

Dang.....that's not the picture I was hoping to see. Sorry to hear that.
An extra couple grand for a block now might save you a bunch later IMO.
Would it really be 7 grand for a shortblock or is there damage to the heads as well?

BOSS block FTW!!!!!
Damn Billy. No luck with the AEM? Were you still getting timimg errors? Think that had something to do with that?
Where is the pic of the rest of the motor too?

easiest way is to do a windsor build, the stock blocks handle the power pretty good, get a scat rotator, and good heads/cam.. a turbo will make a setup like this FLY!!!

As for the AEM, well not totally figured out all my timing error problems, I was still getting a couple, but nothing like i was having issues with. The car was running good right before it decided to disintegrate. I can't say that i'd blame it for blowing up, but i'd say the tuning problems i had along the way probably didn't help. The motor just couldn't take any more of the abuse i was putting through it. connecting rods snapped like twigs. I had pondered the idea of a windsor build, I'm not sure if my turbo kit will fit a windosor. I'll post up all the pics

thanks guys, i'm browsing right now. those dart SHP blocks aren't bad but they have gone up since initial release or 1499 to 1799. why can't us ford guys get a reliable block that doesn't cost so darn much. no wonder people drive chevys

yeah for that much you might as well go sportsman
A little more and get an iron eagle. If you can find one.

I went with a Ford Racing Boss Block. Suppossed to handle 1500+ hp.
OUCH, that first pic of the pieces in the oil pan just made me cringe.

thanks guys. i've been down a few idea paths so far, and i'm pretty much like ugh... i can either build what i want which honestly will cost me 10 grand because i'll have no choice but to upgrade my fuel system and tranny. or i can just look for another stock shortblock or decent 306 for cheap to slap back in and grenade once again.

That sucks Billy. I have a dart sportsman based 331ci in my '95 that is setup for my turbo kit when it ever goes on. I had Rick at RNH build it for me with Scat 4340 internally balanced internals with ARP2000 rod bolts. I'd recommend that route to you if you are looking to go with an aftermarket block.

if i can find a very cheap shortblock i'm gonna use it and just hopefully make it last until i can try to work out a badass motor at a cheaper price.
