So this crazy kid came up and used my dyno today. It was a supercharged notchback green with a primer hood. It made insane power at only 11psi. Its a 5 speed car. He said he is going to take everything out on the street this weekend!

I was shocked that a stock motor can handle that kind of power.

Anyone know the car?

Does not sound like a stock displacement 5.0 with those numbers. What is the combo?

It has some oversized looking supercharger. I am pretty sure its a 5.0 bottem end. out of a 91.

i don't see what's hard to believe about it. in fact where i come from i'd say those numbers are pretty common :)

Back when I was into the 5.0 cars, 11 PSI on a SC 5.0 combo with a stock bottom end (302 CU IN) did not USUALLY make that kind of power. About 400RWHP was the norm on stock CU IN/alum heads/mild cam combo.

Must be some SUPER SECRET mods to that car. ROTFL!!!!!!!!!!!

Decent N/A H/C/I cars with a stock bottom end will usually make *around* 330 to the tires. That 11 psi power adder is adding roughly 240 to the ground. Sounds like someone has done their homework on that combo. Shit, most of them coraller's would be happy if their blown 347 was near that level.

570 rwhp sound about right to me if you have any clue what your doing. Hell my stock longblock with a cam was making near 550 rwhp, and that with the crappy stock gt-40 irons. If you have h.c.i. and a blower and make anything less than 575 - 600 I would have to say you have no clue whats going on. This is extremely simple to do. How long a stock bottom end will live under 600 rwhp is another story though........lol

No secrets here. Its my old motor. It is a stock bottom end. The only thing done to the bottom end were bearings from me. Pistons never left the bores. I have the sheet on my phone but I will let the owner post it up. Only making 11.79PSI boost with a novi2000. All off the shelf parts, nothing ported or worked over either. And in only has 42lb injectors. HAHAHAHAH

nice. my car made about 540 with 42's, and they were just about maxxed out. that motor probably wont hold together for long if its being out to work.

It was all screwed up when I had it. The crank wobbled (due to a shitty edelbrock timing set), had stock heads. Same cam, same intake and longtubes. 44lb injectors running a 60%duty cycle. It did 397.66/397.71. All at less than 5000rpm. We didnt want to go any higher than 5 with the crank.

Now, its just off the shelf bolt ons, HCI.

I was there when the heads got bolted down its a scum stock bottom end. nothing fancy. just boost and a heavy right foot...nothing magic. my 351w street car put down 431 on the same dyno.

I would say this is kind of a stretch to say, but yet i guess the dyno numbers really dont matter, just what happens going down the 1/4 mile

I will be at the track wensday to be one of the few people that run in the 9's with a stock shortbock.

Hey man, I've been meaning to ask you about this guy that drives other people's rides when they are looking for that elusive e.t. Can you believe his buddy passes out business cards and places them under the wipers at M.I.R. I've heard over on another forum that there have been some of the same business cards found on T-n-T nights at Atco as well. They claim that the guy who does the hotshoe driving goes by the two letters T.C. I'm saying who in the hell shows up at the track with no vehicle in hand and drives other peoples' rides to new bests and has his buddy passing out them dumb cards. Shhh, some people.

...had a brokin rocker arm on #6! Was gonna do a set of cams if he had to dig into the engine more, while it was opened up. But it wasn't nearly as bad as we all thought it would be thou. So I'm gonna do a quick tune/dyno pull while its there and lookin to do some sub-frame connectors too.
