Hmmmmm mediocre article gets interesting at the end:
http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2009/09/spied-coyote-5-0-liter-v8-ford-f150.html

Of course, our sources tell us that Ford is already working on a version of the Coyote V-8 that will separate itself from the rest of the future V-8 engine lineup. In cartoons, the Coyote is only beat by a Road Runner. Look for a twin-turbo 5.0-liter V-8, code-named "Road Runner," with well over 500-horsepower to debut first in the Mustang GT500 in 2012 and possibly, in F-150 Harley-Davidson edition pickups.

That's one way to win the HP war and the MPG war.... now if only they'd put the car on a diet :hyper:

2011 supposed to have Al block 5.4 too.
I was waiting for them to expend the Ecoboost stuff. I would guess this would be a direct injection TT 5.0 4V, which would be SWEET.

yay! Turbos FTMFW!

Shoot, if i had the money, you could sign me up for one of those Harley Trucks with that motor too.... turbo cars are one thing, but a non-diesel twin turbo truck would raise some eye-brows

are they going to bring the 5.0 back and get rid of the 4.6 or is it just going into the gt500?

2011 Mustang GT is going to have a 4V 5.0 and 6-speed.
Latest rumor is 425hp advertised and 468hp on the engine dyno. Seems a little high to me but the guy who mentioned it works directly with Ford. Official announcement is 12/7/09 he said.

thats bad ass... even if it is 375 horsepower... with some simple bolt on mods you could easily get over 400 horsepower and have a car that would whoop the shit outta challenger and a camaro

Not even the case.

The purpose for twins is for quicker spooling time. One big turbo is usually sluggish building boost where two smaller ones are not.

And one big turbo makes more HP than smaller turboS

:dunno:
Single or twin can make the same power, just matters what they can flow on the engine.
Most OEMs will use a twin on a V8 for packaging.
With Ford's new love for Ecoboost TTs, I hope the rumor is true, I just want to help the environment ;) .

No word on the TT5.0, but the 2011 GT500 details were released, basically 550hp Aluminum block and many other nice upgrades. Do a quick google search for the press release.
