Hi Guys,

Checking in from South Central PA. I have a 95 Sapphire Blue 5 speed GT with about 130k miles (odo gear needs fixed) that I just purchased this months, replacing my previous GM product that went through four transmissions in my ownership (yay used car warranties). Carfax labels this car as a GT/GTS, not sure if that's of any meaning or not.

I've never had a car that has really had aftermarket support like this one, and while I'm NOT new to auto mechanics (I have my inspection license, but currently in college), I am quite new to the mod world. My first planned mod is GT40 heads/intake and cam.

So far, she's received new front tires to replace the crazy tracking goodyear runflats, and a front end alignment. She needs a blower motor resistor, odo gear, front seats (drivers side is torn kinda badly and it clicks when you try to move the power adjustment forward or back), elimination of a vibration squeak you hear over big bumps or when you're cruising along in a high gear at about 1350-1400 rpm and 4000 rpm if you're getting on it, figure out why the BBK FPR drops pressure immediately after key off (requires priming before starting), and a few other small things a 14 year old car is expected to need.

Welcome!
So, you do call this thing purple right? ;)
A good friend of mine in Ohio had one that color and would always call it blue....and we would always give him shit and call it purple haha.
Also, I don't think its a GTS as those were like stripper GTs and I believe didn't have leather or the rear spoiler.
Either way, glad you found the site.

Now that you mention it, my friends was a dog of a '96, it was some kinda blue color code that looked just like the purple above.

No, it's not faded, the paints not in the greatest condition but it isn't faded, my cell phone camera just sucks lol. I will get some real pictures up before winter, I plan on doing a full detail because it's FULL of sun swirls. And yeah... I've accepted the fact that it's purple. And... this color was available on ~2500 95 SN95s and that was it for that body style. I think there are some later models with that color too, though. It's official name is 'Sapphire Blue'. It's basically purple during the day, and only blue at night under street lamps lol. If you get real close to the paint, there are bits of blue metallic and purple metallic flake.

What's funny is I used to make fun of several of my friends for having purple ('horizon grey' civic, 'flaked blue' jeep grand cherokee) vehicles all the time, now look at my vehicle. Karmas a bitch I suppose :jump: lol.

Commonly misinterpreted, it is an old web design business I used to have. Think 'Computer-topia'.

I'm going to shoot a video with my digital camera, she's actually looking somewhat blue today! I'll post it when it's done uploading.

It was already warmed up, had been driving it for a while about an hour earlier (take note of purple civic in background :P)

Thanks guys, lots of good lookin cars in the signatures I'm seeing here. Must not be from around here, no one from this area (I'm originally from Detroit) drives any kind of impressive cars out here. I've seen some nice cars parked in friend's garages, but what good is that? :P
