View Full Version : flaming river manual rack grinding??

in the new car i bought it has a flaming river manual rack. when i turn it it kinda binds up then grinds when i push it past that point. any idea what could be locking it up.?? does the steering shaft need adjusted? any one have skills with these parts haha i sure as hell dont

make sure its not hitting the headers that is a common problem with this kit
jack it up and hae someoneturn the wheel to see whee its cumin from

it clears the headers but even in the air it still binds up. im thinking the shaft itself? ive never run this kit so i dk much about how they hook up

worked fine when motor was pulled

it seemed to steer fine when the motor wasnt in but now that its in it grinds

what headers you use?

flowtech headers. but its not hitting those. it clears everything it almost like the 2 shafts are jacked up. ill look again but i can almost swear it clears the headers

Are the joints phased on the shaft?

well it had macs on it so when they came off someone had to take the shafts apart to get header off.They might not have line them up right and they might be binding
