Anyone know what to lookout for on these... i have always wanted a sy/ty and a typhoon is for sale locally w/in a few miles, guy moved away and asked a dealer to sell it for him... i stopped and gave it a quick look and it is need of bodywork at least.... goin after work to drive it, said he wants $5k for it but acted like the guy would prob take less....

how many miles? i know these are gettin' up in age, but id be careful with the huffer and the mileage... not to point out the obvious, but id be very careful when looking for oil leaks.

passed on it... 110k miles, abs light on, shows no oil pressure, drivers window doesnt work, brakes felt horrible, shifted at 4k rpms and didnt feel like it was boosting up a whole lot... paint flaking around the cladding, rear gate and bumper dented pretty good, rust above the rear glass on the body.... very poor condition... wanted 5k ... told him it was worth about 3k to me in its present shape... said the guy wouldnt sell it that cheap and he would have it shipped to NC if it didnt sell....

search saxon auto sales in russelton..... if i had owned them before and was familiar with them i would prob buy it... it can be had for $4k i bet... maybe cheaper.... it'd even be a great winter beater and part out if something major went... let me know if you get it how it turns out

all black, leather seats were in suprisingly decent shape, center console lid was all busted off the hinges/latch area, fuel gauge jumped around under wot. definately wasnt pulling real strong. ac compressor was making noise, alot of chassis rust, front tires dryrotted, wheels in pretty poor shape... the shop supposidly inspected it the last few times and said he only was putting like 300 miles on it between inspections

Man, I have seen better ones go for cheaper. My uncle has the sea foam green one and I think he wants to sell it. Its really rare. But, the original motor is not in it. It was a theft recovery and was stripped. Still has all the undercarrage though. Body as I remember was real nice too. Been in a garage for the last 10 years. I think the turbo was lifted too. But its a GM and everything goes wrong with them anyways.

it seems like the market really hurt the sy/ty segment... you can get really nice looking ty's with all kinds of upgrades with the same miles as the one i looked at for 7-8 grand.

What did he get it for 4?? a syty member drove to see it from erie in july and offered him 2k so i didnt feel bad for offering 3k... hope it works out for him
