Here is board member whitesnake's ride! Bill is serving our country in the Navy and is presently on ship! He had is family bring us the car for some basic upgrades, to include...
Full Length Subframe Connectors
Flywheel
Clutch
Firewall Adjuster/Quadrant
4.10's with a complete housing overhaul and t-lok rebuild
There isn't much to get excited about when out to sea so Bill asked me if I would document the work and post pictures on here. Took a quick pic of his ride a little while ago and will start installing his parts tomorrow, I will post some more pics then.
Thanks for serving our great country Bill! We really appreciate your service and business!

Looks good Mike! What do you think the total weight savings are through the driveline?

Looks good Mike! What do you think the total weight savings are through the driveline? Not much but the drive shaft is lighter and definitely helps, it all adds up in the end! Your parts just got here along with your twin! Will have some more pictures for your later today:goodidea:

Engine rear main seal, pilot bearing, flywheel, clutch are done and the tranny has been reinstalled. Still need to fill the tranny up with some good lube, install the shifter, firewall adjuster and quadrant. Should have had most of this car done by now but shit has been crazy at the shop:shoothead:

It is exciting to see both Cobra's in there, but a little worrysome. haha
Hope she is not giving you too many problems. My exhaust looks a little shaky in the one pic, but i am guessing the mid pipe is off. Keep it up Mike! Thanks for the thread!

Thanks for the thread!Midpipe is still off and you are missing the driver side rear exhaust hanger which is why it is hanging funny! Everything is fine with the car, just have a million things going!!!

Ok Bill, heres the deal! All the tranny and clutch stuff is done and the rear end has been completely disassembled, cleaned and inspected. Unfortunately you lost a spider gear thrust washer and it has been chewing up your carrier housing. Also has started to chew up the spider gear, attached pictures show everything that I am talking about. You could try and get away with just getting a new spider gear/thrust washer assembly but you are just pissing in the wind IMO! With all the work you are doing and the money that you are spending, it makes absolutely no sense to try and band-aid this problem. My recommendation to you is this...

If you have any plans of ever upgrading the axles to 31 spline, now is the time to do so. If that is the case, then I would recommend the cobra irs carrier as it is 31 spline and comes with the carbon fiber clutches.
Either way, I will be more then happy to buy back the carbon fiber t-lok rebuild kit that you bought off me to help you pay for the new carrier. If you aren't worried about the money and still want to have the carbon clutches installed, I can still do that too. Never heard back from the tinter, will call him again tomorrow. Let me know if you have any questions or problems.
Give me a ring on my cell tonight if you want to go over anything...

Just looking that you actually numbered the torque sequence on the clutch plate, and flywheel is reassuring in your work. So many times people just slap that stuff back together and don't sequence the install and end up chasing vibrations and everything because of it. :) It's little things that make pictures worth 1000 words

mike. if they are cheaper than the ones from Summit ($195) i am down. let me know. I think i am just going to go with the new differential and give the carbon fiber back. if she gets anything ridiculous in the future i will upgrade, but i have no plans for that in the near future...thanks for takin care of me!

Bill,
Just replied to your email! Getting a good used carrier off Lou will save you a few dollars, then I can rebuild it with the good clutches so it will be a better carrier in the end. Will post up some more pictures this weekend:goodidea:
