Cant really think of any other way to say this one. I have been wanting to tuck my wires for a long time. I did a good bit over the last few years. But, now I figure its time to do all of it and be done. I will update as progress gets done.

HAHAH Yeah, Bob, thanks. HAHAHAHHA But I will say, I am adding an Eaton carrier so my car does not end up like yours on its first pass out with sticky tires. HAHAH Thats along with the "to do" list this year.

I hid damn near every line I possibly could on my car & its very time consuming. I was able to do all of it without cutting/adding to any of the lines/wiring harnesses. Take your time & it will turn out very nice! Good luck buddy!

11-04-2009, 09:39 PM
good luck , you can unplug and reroute alot fo the drivers side ones just make sure they are all plugged back together

wick
11-04-2009, 10:02 PM
Driver side was completely hidden last year. I lengthened a few wires to get it done. The main harness is going to be the bitch though. With it all opened up, the 1 ten pin connector goes free to the passenger side. The other has a couple wires that go to the drivers side and they will need pulled put of the respecting connectors and re-routed/lengthened to get back to where they are now. I like how Ford uses basically 2 grounds and tie multiple wires off of it. Such morons. 2 to the ECU and four to various places all meeting in the center. Shouldnt be too hard though. Hardest part is going to be welding all the holes up.

wick
11-04-2009, 10:04 PM
Also moving the baro sensor inside the car and the vacuum tree into the inner fender or cowl. Not sure yet which way to go with it yet. Pulling the master and booster this weekend.

Parts are arriving finally. Will get some pics up soon. Got an Eaton carrier. Edlebrock Victor5.0 intake, ordered my Team Z front end kit. The one with K-member, tubuar arms and coil overs. Dave said it should be here by Thursday, friday at the latest. Its finally coming together, or apart. Depends on how you look at it. HAHA Dash is almost out now and the fender will be coming off tomorrow. New heater core going in and probably an A/C evaporator.

Got some more done today. These dashes are a bitch to get out but worth it. My heater core was leaking like none other. I by-passed it last year. But with my son riding with me in the car I figured it was time to fix it. Its easy to get apart out of the car too. HAHAHAHA

Well Rob, I was thinking about welding the pinch weld from the inside and cutting it all off on the outside then running the lines under the car for the brakes. I am getting rid of the prop valve too. It will be useless so why keep it? Scottrodfab aprons came yesterday.
Thanks Bob!
Same to you Brian, thanks. Haha. Yeah, with a baby some things take a bit longer than they used to. I hope to have the engine bay painted by Christmas. Engine back in by new years. Big goals here.

So far I lengthened about 40 plus wires and got rid of a bunch.

Yeah, his price is more than reasonable. And the function it serves plus the look it gives is the best of both worlds.

The panel looks like hell right now. Five minutes with the flapper wheel and it will be perfect. I did the other side this evening with the wheel. Minimal filler is needed. Just a skim coat.

Welded all the seams as well. Need to pull the booster and toss it away. That will probably be tomorrow. Made the pieces for the passenger side as well. Didnt weld them in yet though. We will see how tomorrow goes.

Also eliminting the prop valve. Using a Wilwood adjustable one and doing the 3-2 port conversion. Think I may do it the correct way though rather than the band aide way everybody sells. Re-do the lines and get proper fittings. Guess the next step would be pulling the K-member and getting it up in the air.

Tony71502
12-11-2009, 04:30 PM
Looks good man.

Are you putting the wilwood valve on the passenger's side or trying to tuck it near the stock location?

I'm using a 5 port sn95 proportioning valve where the stock one should be and using an adjustable valve where the engine bay hard line is mated to the front-to-rear hardline (near the passenger side hood hinge).

wick
12-11-2009, 07:09 PM
I wouldnt use the Sn valve with the fox Tony. The weight bias is different and might cause a braking issue. You would be better off either using the nut that I bought and wont be using now to disable the fox valve, or do like me and put the Wilwood inplace of the stocker and link the fronts together.

Thanks also!!!

silvernotch
12-11-2009, 07:14 PM

Yeah, what they said. The Ford Kit calls for disabling of the sn-95 proportioning valve by removing the plunger and changing the fitting. Then the adjustable valve is so you can set the bias.

http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff68/tony71502/6-20-09.jpg

You can definitely do it your way and in the process clean up the engine bay by not having the prop valve. I'm just not big into bending brake lines. Shortening the driver's side front caliper line and bending it to match the back of the prop valve was enough for me.

wick
12-11-2009, 10:54 PM
HAHAH Gotcha Tony!! Do you have the plug?

Tony71502
12-11-2009, 11:58 PM
Yes. The Ford kit comes with everything in the world to do the conversion right. Except for the nut to hold the new prop valve to the strut tower. (different stud threads)

The proper plug and prop valve were already installed at the time of the picture.

Do you need/want the plug? The only reason it is not in that picture is because I was showing the parts that got removed and the instructions to someone on MustangForums. I guess the plug that is shown in the picture has the hole and cap on it to release air pressure as the plunger is compressed, but I do not know for sure.

Sorry to keep posting pics, but here's the good ol' Sn-95 valve with the proper port on it(front side). By the way... if you do go this route, you will need an adapter for the rear most port. You should be able to see it in the picture. I love me some stainless steel lines... :)

I never knew they had a kit like that, interesting.
I just got rid of that ugly factory prop valve.
I also use a '94 Cobra MC and from the rear port use a Wilwood prop valve to the rears and the front port goes to a line-lock and then to each front.
Very clean and simple.
I understand using the stock prop valve as just a distribution block to save making new lines. I did it that way for a while, then just cleaned it up like I mentioned, looks much better.

That sounds like a good set up bimini. I'm not that heavy into drag as much as autoX, so I opted to not put a line lock in. I considered it for a long time though.

Well Frank, it started as a heater core swap. HAHA When I didnt have enough fuel at one of Lunds tuning days here I decided to sell the whole fuel system and start over with a sumped tank. Then I sold the motor that was in it. Then I said I am going to smoothen the engine bay. Then I just got carried away. HAHAHAHHA

Got a good bit dont last night. Waiting for my Camber plates. No big deal. Almost ready for the engine to go back in though. Drilled a 2" hole right in the center for the 10 pin, o2 and Distributer harness. Once the motor is back in it will be hidden. Lengthened the wiper harness and ran it through the cowl.

I have not gotten the nerve yet to cut a hole for the power pipe. I might do something else with that. Not sure yet though. Wires are run for the maf as well. Just gotta figure exactly where its going to go before I drill into the engine bay. I might get bored tonught and throw the engine in. Not sure yet. May just do the brake system instead though.

I actually made it. I got a plug from a T-bird, did the hole then used a razor to open the hole in the plug for the harness. I kinda figured you were waiting to see what I did for mine. HAHA I was waiting to see what you were going to do. There was a good bit of trimming I had to do with the insulation. I can give yolu details if you want. The insulation is so thick, after trimming it, there is no load on any wires and they all move freely if need be. I assume your dash is out right? Stop over and check it out if you want

Yeah. I am probably going to run the piping a different way this time. Always looking to doing something different. Besides, It would make sence. Rather than running the pipe from the blower across the front of the car, I can take it straight down and to the cooler then straight back up to the TB.

Hey Rob, those straps will work much better than the jack for holding the tank in place, those little jack wheels burn up too quick ;)

Thanka man!! For sure. Wheels and tires are in the works too. Should be a good runner. It will be the quickest car I have ever owned. Most powerful too. Cant wait. I was going to try to fire it up this weekend but that has to wait now. Pro-M still didnt send my meter. Had to send it in for an 80# cal.

A set of Pro stars. 15X4 front I think and 15X8 rears. I think thats the sizes. I will need the spacers for the fronts to clear the Cobra brakes. They will just be for track duty mainly. The rears are 6" BS.

Absolutely!!! The deal is nice and I could use some good rubber for the trrack. Drag radials just dont cut it. I also dont really know what I am doing though either. Hoping for some good practice this year.

Seat time is all it takes. I had the most fun with my car when learning how to get it down the track. Going faster every week gets addicting.

Isnt that the truth. I think a 6 speed might be in the near future. The tremec might not hold up to the abuse its about to endure, HAHA

I knew you would think of something!!! I gave you that six hose last week with the 90 on it, that should be long enough. you better be serious about starting it

I think this thread being called "Project wire tuck" is the most misleading advertising I've seen since Obama's campaign...

Seriously - Rob - WOW!!! - everything looks fantastic! I can't wait to see it when you're "done."

Keep up the good work!! Spring will be here...someday...
