Had an issue with a fuel line so I had my buddy go pick him up last week! We are installing some American Racing long tube headers, catted x pipe, Kenne Bell BAP, changing the supercharger inlet and will be retuning her next week! Few pics...

It was a tough decision between Kooks and American Racing. Ultimately I chose AR because unlike the Kooks they are a true long tube header. All I can say is they better produce some HP or I'm going to be pissed .... cuz they weren't cheap!

Those were 93 octane SAE & Uncorrected. I asked Mike for the run file so I can see it in STD numbers ....

I'll answer what I can but Mike will need to verify.

PSI: 18 (??)
Timing: 20 (??)

Still just a little TVS :)

hey now, i never said that i took back my statement about the hype surrounding a stock GT500.... but lets leave that baby to rest....

I was just interested... when i built my car, the general consensus was that 700whp on pump gas on only 348 cubes was pushin it a bit... so i put a meth injection kit on just to play it safe... that gave it a few horsies and also eased up on the fuel system a little... since you are on even less cubes, i didn't know if you had any concerns of this or not... it was cheap insurance and gave me some peace of mind.... I guess that's what the Torco is for tho :goodidea:

So are these numbers after a new tune AND headers?

700rwhp is about max with these stock fuel systems, so to play it save we added a BAP. Mike and Jon are still playing with the street tune so I'm really not sure where the 93 tune is going to end up. I think Jon is going to play it safe but the 93+ Torco is going to rip!

This Torco is some wild stuff just add a can to a tank of 93 and you instantly have 107 Octane!

Thanks John!

My prior 93 SAE numbers were 654/624. We added American Racing header, BAP, ported inlet and of course a new tune. I would suspect most of the gains came from the tune but the headers and BAP allowed Jon to be more aggressive.

.... yes I think the headers were worth it! :hyper:

As much as I love Torco myself, you might want to watch the details ;)

Here is the blend chart....

http://torcoracefuel.net/2-docs/accelerator-blend-chart.gif

It would take more than a can to a tank to even get close to those numbers. A lot of us that run it do not think it will ever get that high in octane, and most of us target 100 octane as the high end on the mix.

Thanks Bob, we're actually mixing 1 32oz can to 1/4 tank of 93 Octane not a full tank as previously mentioned.

You wouldn't happen to have this chart for 93 Octane would you?

You wouldn't happen to have this chart for 93 Octane would you?

It doesent exist for anything but 91 (west coast gas). I made an excel spreadsheet that tried to factor it but gave up as I just keep to 1 quart per 8 gallons now, and mix on a full tank. Easier for me to know what to add by how much gas I add, plus car is more consistant on a full tank for me.

That pull was made with 93 only, no Torco. Peak boost is a little over 18lbs but he spends most of the time in the 17lb range. Still the TVS blower, peak timing was 20 degrees. While this pull was safely made for many different reasons, it is not a practical street tune. We pulled the timing back to a max of 17 degrees and added a little extra fuel up top, attached is his final 91-93 street tune graph.

I asked Mike for the run file so I can see it in STD numbers ....

I only like to view numbers SAE, it is the industry standard for correction and comparison. The only other way I will view them is Uncorrected as those are your actual numbers.

As soon as the Torco get here on Thursday, I will start making some more pulls:hyper:

This is also what I have heard. Theres an actual test somewhere out there on the net that showed Torco only adding a tiny bit to the octane. I wouldnt chance it with it when you can easily just buy some 110 Sunoco octane and be done with it & know exactly what your getting.

While Torco doesn't compare to race fuel, it does work and is perfect for situations like this and cars like Marks! It's a street car with conservative tuning, not a race car on the ragged edge! The extra timing will bump his dyno numbers and give him and extra kick in the butt at the track, the Torco is just a safety net. Problem with 110 and many of the other fuels out there is they are leaded fuel which is not good for the o2 sensors. I haven't checked in a while, but VP used to make the highest unleaded race fuel on the market, MS 109. Used it my old cobra, good stuff! The other thing with race fuel is that there is such a thing as being over octaned, it will cost you power and et...

Martin0660
12-01-2009, 08:20 PM
The best no lead we can get easily in this area is VP Street Blaze 100.

If you mix Torco to that target and buy in 5 gallon cans you are cheaper than buying the Street blaze (or use quarts as needed on rarer occasions).

It works out well for me as I really do drive my car a lot and would need to drive out the race gas and always have some unknown ratio when I added. With Torco, I top off the tank with pump gas on race day and add Torco as needed. I have Torco here in a 5 gallon pour jug and use a measured jar to get the ratio pretty close.

As Mike said, it works for sure. I have knock data with and without Torco that supports the 100 octane mix (1 quart / 8 gallons of 93 versus 100 octane no lead). Both of those support that it IS mixed at 100 octane equivalent. I just think it adds too much to the fuel and slows the flame front worse than race gas when you try to go to the higher octanes.

Wow - that dark grey might be my new favorite Shelby color...I think the Razor rims really help pull it off. Sweet car!!!

Collins PC - where do you work in Moon? I've lived here all my life. Dad used to own Carnot Beer Dist. - you probably know where that is?? :D
