Whats up? I'm from the Butler area. 21 years old (as of tomorrow anyways), my dad, myself, and my little sister have been drag racing at PRP and Quaker city for a while now. My dad started drag racing again when he got his 2000 Firehawk and started to modify it. My little sister just outgrew her JR. dragster and wants to get into a 7 second rail car after she is out of college. Anyways:

Heres some stats:

2008 Shelby GT500
Vista Blue w/ White stripes
Metco 2.6" pulley
15lbs of boost
Ford Racing Intake
Lethal Performance off road X pipe
Bassani SS axle backs
Eibach pro kit
BMR lower control arms
BMR adjustable panhard bar
18" CCW SP-550's with 315/30/18 M/T Drag radials

Best time (without traction) is a 12.20 @ 122

I am going to be pulling the supercharger off and upgrading it over the winter. So far here is what I have on the way:

Spec ST trim super twin disk clutch
Revan Racing heat exchanger
Revan Racing rad

I am going to be getting a Whipple 4.0l blower thats on the new cobra jet, a 9" with detroit locker and 35 spline axles, full Spohn suspension in the rear, and full tubular front end setup from BMR, dual pump return style fuel system with 80# injectors as well, billet rods and new pistons to take the extra rev's that I will need to run eventually, a set of 15" bogarts with a bias ply slicks for the street, and well much much more. Its going to be a long build and done in stages so at first we are hoping for mid to low 10's and once we build the rear end and block to handle the power, we will kick up the boost and shoot for low 9's in a full weight 6 speed car.

I am also debating weather or not to run a water/meth injection kit so I can run pump gas on the street as well, and that may be something to look at later on.

Yeah, what were you running? I was working on a twin turbo build from Hellion, but after talking with a lot of people running the setup and seeing the results with the new 4.0l blower that Whipple let out, my mind was made up.

12.20's around 115-116.

Hmmm, would be hard to go blower over turbo going by results but to each their own. What kind of times are you shooting for?

Low 9's in a full weight car. The reason they say to go blower is due to me wanting to stick with the 6 speed. The only one getting close to my times is a guy named Tony out of Florida, he has to run a compound setup to make it work anyways and he is pushing over 30#'s through 61mm turbo's on a drag radial setup just to hit 9.49.... had I gone auto it would have been better. He says the car really isn't streetable without the supercharger on it anyways.

Thanks guys, looking forward to sharing my build with you. I haven't done very much work on cars myself aside from dropping a 6.0l LS2 into my S-10 but that was just using an engine lift and bolting it in... so I am looking forward to doing the blower swap, cooling mods, fuel system, and so on, only things I am not wanting to do are the bottom end, rear end, and suspension. I really know nothing about suspension geometry so hopefully I can figure out how to dial in the shocks and whatnot...

I hope so! I am thinking about running the meth injection setup so I can run it full boost on the street on 93 octane!

Serious man, I like.
You're refering to 'the bull' on SVTP, awesome car. Why not just duplicate that set-up with the compound boost? I think the 4L Whipple is a great idea too, can't go wrong either way.
I always like the fast stick street cars myself :).
Good luck.

I think the compound boost setup that he is running would just cause way too much stress and to get to where he is I would have to convert to E85 of which I really don't want to get into since I really know nothing about the subject.

If you can get E85 easily locally, I would really consider it. My brother runs it with a lot of success, if it becomes available locally to me, my car will run it also.
I'll be buying a GT500 in a few years, so I pay attention to them ;).

To be honest, I would rather run a meth/water injection vs. an Ethanol because that way if I do venture out of the local area, I don't get stuck. That and I am not even sure I have an Ethanol station anywhere close. For the first part of the build I am going to run with Torco added to each tank of gas and try to be very conservative until I can get that bottom end and rear end built since I don't want to go to a single piece driveshaft (have to change it when I go to the 9" and don't feel like paying for it twice...)

I will have a long way to go and hope to see 10's this summer with a very very held back setup though!

28x12.5 ET street bias ply work ok for ya?

28x12.5 ET street bias ply work ok for ya?Thats more then enough tire but do your self a favor and get the Hoosier Quick Time Pro, much better tire. Either that big and type of tire will hurt your dyno numbers but you wont slip on the dyno, or at least your tires wont! I was more less referring to street tires, you cant expect to not spin 20" low pro dot tires with that kind of power...

I'm gonna be running the bias ply on the street so that is my "street" tire haha :goodidea:
