Fox Mod 4v swap

This thread will probably be a long time in the making but I've been rounding up parts for my modular swap
stuff I have so far
complete running 93 mark viii
just bought 01 cobra heads/cams tonight
96 GT wiring harness
complete wiring diagrams for both 96 and 93 mustangs

For the time being the car will be N/A

Ill be posting pictures as soon as I start, Ill more than likely be mocking the swap up in a convertible roller I have so when I swap into my car I'll have minimal down time.

I want to write up a pretty comprehensive how-to thread.....but we'll see how that goes:jump:

its a 4.6 to TKO, but will be modified to bolt my T5

This is a rough idea of where the holes are drilled on the bell. Some of the TKO holes are really close to the edge of where the T5 holes will be drilled

I cant wait to start getting this thing together, I have all my parts collected now except for fuel rails. well stuff i counted on anyways, im sure theres tons of unforeseen stuff ill need yet. plus machining costs, timing set, gasket set, spark plugs etc....

I remember someone doing this on here before. was it a GT that was blue and gray? It looked like a cool build! I'm sure at some point ill run into issues where ill need advice from someone that has done it

its just out to get wired, its getting the whole body harness. haha I was up last night until 5 working on it......once I get into something I try to stick with it

hydroboost is bolted up with the pedals.....it took some modifying to make it brace the steering column like the fox pedal assembly did

The wiring is well over 90% finished, K member is off getting painted white
my block and heads are at the machine shop and should be done tomorrow.
everything is looking good to start assembling the motor this weekend:woot1:

made some changes to my four-ways.....this saved me alot more of rewiring and plus I like the look of it

You can get some Flowtech's pretty cheap and they were good better than OK quality wise---I helped my friend install them on a '97 Cobra and it is a major PITA withour dropping the subframe. I think they were only $200 or so.

Good point j, It is almost impossible to bolt them up without the motor out of the car, only way to really get in there is to drop the k-member.

Tell me about it John, worst header install I ever did, took a full weekend :)
Also Jim, my brother uses BBKs for a '03-04 Cobra in his '86 with the mod swap. Passenger side fit perfect, the drivers needed one tube 'massaged'. He did have a tubular K but I'd still think you could make a 4V set work.

yes its probably going to be painted black, theres too many colors going on. I just wanted to make sure it fit......which i cant believe it but it does.

That tranny is going to take a beating!! I just hope it lasts the summer and ill deal with it later.

T5 should be fine behind a NA 4.6 and should shift nice in the high rpms that it likes.

it runs and drives!!!! I really havent been able to get on it yet....i need to change my 94-95 spindles to my 96+ modular spindles with this modular k member. I have some outrageous bump steer problems because of it. heres some near finished pictures....dont mind the fact that its dirty.

honestly, theres a lot. the issue is at the firewall, this motor is shoved back in the hole big time. it cleared by like a half an inch

I like it looking like it was stock and supposed to be there......I put a K&N in it for the time being, i was looking at JLT cold air intakes but im afraid it wont fit in my fox.

and my strut bar doenst clear my intake tube :irked: its so close to fitting
