Hi. I'm looking for a replacement battery for my '65 and none of them have the side cleats. If anyone has a classic 64 yo 67 for instance, what type of battery and/or set up are you using? It looks like the 24F is a good choice but I don't know which make works best. know they make the over the battery hold down clamp, but are there any othere options? THANKS!

We just got these in last week, a little pricey though.

Thanks Lou. Would there be any type of a SCS and/or senior citizen (65) discount on this? I ssume this has the side cleats? My '65 is all original and this would be a nice addition for sure. Thanks, John

I bought an EverStart Maxx from Wal-Mart last fall for my wife's '66 GT and it fits perfectly in the stock battery tray. 3 year replacement warranty and 875 cold cranking amps. I can't remember the price, but I'm thinking it was in the $75 range.

How did you fasten it in? Did that battery have side cleats for the stock hold down clamp? This is where I'm having trouble. Thanks.

Yep - the battery, unlike most of the ones available, has the cleat on the short sides. I just brought my original battery into the store and searched the rack until I found one with the exact same dimensions and the cleat. The cheaper model didn't have the cleat, but the Maxx model did.
Have fun shopping!
