Everything went great. She only laid down 360 hp and 400 tq at the ground not quite my 400 mark but the car is ridiculously responsive and the power is right now so I can't complain. Thanks again to all the guys at sgs

Good to hear...that's still alot of power and will make for a serious street car.

It runs really good and enough power to get me in trouble so I'm happy

Cool!:awsome: What heads and intake are you running?

Gray 5.0

Trick flow street burner and patriot performance heads. I probably should have went with the track heat manifold but my cam is an e cam and that cuts off at 5500 as well as the street burner so its pretty well matched

4 eyed mustang do your gt40 irons have any port work done to them?

A very small amount to the exaust ports by the previous owner of them, upgraded springs, valve job, and a light shave to make them nice and flat.

fresh 306, e cam, patriot 185 heads, trick flow upper/lower with spacer. 60lb injectors, bbk long tubes h pipe and magnaflows, msd igniton distributor and coil. all new pumps, 3.73 gears, vortech v1 10 lbs, powerpipe. i have an intercooler set up its just not on the car. few other odds and ends but it put down 370 hp and 400tq at the ground. im not really happy with the numbers but at least it runs good

Your heads are killing your combo. What intake do you have?

Sure. Bill is right though. The heads are going to fox lake to get opened up. Its not easy trying to get 800-1000 hp.

You have some drastic issues with your whole combo bud!

With a 100% stock OEM longblock with 100,000+ miles on it and GT-40 iron heads w/ a cam and stock ported Cobra intake on 14lbs of boost from a vortech S-trim I made 505 rwhp.

You need to look into your whole combo as ALL of the details matter.

Valve Springs
Cam installation
Lifters
Setting up valvetrain correctly
MAF
Injectors
Tuning
ignition
Plugs
Plug gaps

Every last detail can make all of the difference in the world.

Theres tons of cars out there with good aluminum heads, cam and nice intakes and blowers running around making 400-500 rwhp..... Thats what seperates the men from the boys there. How can one person take simple "junk" parts and make as much as others with "good" parts?

Answer is it all in the details and you cant skim on any of them.

Good luck and maybe post some very specific details about your combo so maybe you can turn it around and make a good bit bigger chunk of power.

If I were you I would look into a good cam, lifters, valve springs, proper set-up valvetrain, etc..and then crank the boost up!

Figure before, i had a stock long block. Untouched E7 heads, long tubes, tfs 1 cam and a asystemax intake. I made 397@5800 and we let off cause i had a wobbly crank.

Just because something goes together and runs doesnt mean that its "right"!

You can build it "wrong" 5 times and spend a boat load of money or.....
build it "right" once and save all that extra money and headache.

if i had the time trust me id tear that shit down and start over but with going to school soon theres no point. plus if ryan decides to put a different motor into hucks old car i might just buy that one off him and throw that into mine.

ive been dissapointed everytime i had the car tuned after the first tune i did the trick flow manifolds and then the blower and im still not happy. i think ill sit on it through school and then hopefully get a decent job and buy a termi thats what i really want i want out of the foxbodies, love the car but something about a pulley, intake and tune on a termi and shit on my fox with it.

Which pulleys were you running to make 14 lbs of boost? Did you just change the blower pulley or did you change the crank pulley too? Just curious.
