fox body bouncing speedo needle

i am having issues with the one fox body and the speedometer needle bouncing.
any ideas on where i should start to look?

Cable might be sticking.

put a new speedo gear in it and ate teeth off it!!!!!

I'd say check the speedo gear as already suggested and then if not the cable. is it making a chattering sound when its jumping?

Then I would say speedo gear first, then the cable, I had problems with my cable sticking like speedracer stated.

I found out that the inside of the cable started corroding and was sticking to the outter shell of the cable causing the speedo to jump. It would jump until it got past like 15-20 mph then it would stop.

most likely the speedo gear itself.... after that i would say its the cable as already stated

My 91 started bouncing after 55 mph. I changed the speedo gear in the transmission and the cable, but that didnt help at all. Mine seemed to be in the actual speedo.
