anyone used one of these? i heard a lot about them on MW and corral. my GT sits a little lower on the driver side rear and i heard this is common. a company (i forget who and where) makes 3 different size spacers depending on your sag. $30 each.
i was going to order one when i get home....but thought id ask if anyone else has dealt with this.

I was just noticing mine looks the same way. Guess it's just "Ready to Launch!" and transfer the weight to the right rear. :D

yea its something to do with the body and weight or something.....once i fond the link ill post it. the spacer changes nothing but ride height.

found it. Global West
Rear spring perch spacers for leveling your cars ride height.http://www.globalwest.net/spring_spacers_mustang.jpg
You may have noticed some Mustangs from 1979-93 have a
lower ride height on the divers side rear. Not to worry, we have
a simple fix. We use a special rear coil spring spacer machined out of
billet. This will not change anything but the ride height. The
spring spacer goes under the coil spring and indexes on the control
arm. The spacer will also re-index the coil spring.
Spacers will also fit 1994-05 models.
We make 3 different height spacers.
Part# 1100 = 5/8 inch change
Part# 1101 = 3/4 inch change
Part# 1102 = 7/8 inch change
(Only one spacer needed per car) Price 28.59 ea.

You may want to put you new springs on 1st before ordering anything. The rear's are easy enough to get back out if you have to add one.
My car sat even when I had the lowering springs on it.

Well, you would 1st have to see how much of a spacer you would need before you ordered it anyways.

But that's with the "Stock" springs. You have NO IDEA what the difference, if any with the new springs will be!

Probably missing the isolators or they are dry rotted and broke. You can buy a polyurethance isolator kit from summit cheap, will be enought to do both springs.

i had planned on leaving the isolators out...and wrapping top/bottom of springs with electrical tape...gets a little lower ride and still no noise since the tape is there. :dunno:
did it to a couple of my cars before.

Has anyone used the Global West spacers? Do you actually order the amount of change you need, or is there some other formula? I've got about 3/4" lower on the DS, so a 3/4" spacer would do it? seems like there would be more to it as the spacer would change the loading on the springs at different corners, then change that ride height.

So why cant you just buy new springs instead of wasting time on a set of stock springs with worn out and differing spring rates?

I don't know about anyone else, but I still have the "fox lean" even with new springs. It's a chassis thing with these cars. There are some things to help it, but coil overs up front seems to be the most reliable fix. 9 out of 10 times the issue is up front and has nothing to do with the rears.

I agree Bob, I have front and rear coilovers and the rears have different installed height to make it level, fronts are same adjustment--weird.

rear coilovers
Who's rear kit are you running? Does it use a stock upper mount and just a bolt on lower? Whose shocks are they?? Coil overs are on my to do list (maybe ver the summer) been doing some reading and only really came up with MM as a bolt in.

i ended up using LMM springs front and rear with no iso's at all. sat fine imo. i sold it a few months later.
holy old thread batman!

Sorry Bob no bolt-in, its a Strange kit set-up by Team Z when they did the minitub. I think the key with mounting them is just the length between the upper and lower mount if you wanted to make one or the other.
